RADICAL CHANGES
I haven't the vaguest idea! I just post what's on my mind and - WHAMO! - I'm the target of vindictive rage.
... And so goes the story of my life as an Asper!

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THA ... oh ... right ... a compliment.
Thanx!

I was particularly impressed when a member whom I won't name actually changed their avatar to an anti-Fnord symbol, I mean I know there are people here who don't like me, but I can't seem to inspire that sort of commitment in my detractors. The best I can manage is occasional sniping and what I suspect was a moderator sting operation in PPR, and that might just be my paranoia talking.

That being said, i believe Fnord's post in PB's thread, which has already been cited, ...
Not to my knowledge. I have no idea where Fnord's offence is supposed to be. I have no idea what it was. I'm beginning to wonder if it ever existed, as no one seems to have said where it is, other than in the general terms of "somewhere in the Haven".
If he did do something against the rules (which includes more than direct attacks), then we'll speak to him about it.
Then again, maybe not, as he has twice apologised, in this thread, for any offence he may have caused, but both times PhilosopherBoi has refued to accept the apology.
This thread should never have existed in the first place, as it constitutes an attack by PhilospherBoi, on Fnord (and the rest of WP, for that matter.)
I will lock this thread, shortly, as I'm beginning to believe that there was no offence at all.

^^ Careful, Dox, old buddy! I don't know who you're referring to, but if they're a banned member, then even discussing their avatar could violate the "Thou shalt not discuss banned members" rule on this website.
Hey! How about them Lakers! Think they have a chance at the championship? ![]()

How about an avatar like this:
I kinda like Fnord by the way, I mean, his posts are actually interesting, though I may agree with them I don't actualy agree with how it is addressed even if it is right, either way, he is practicing his freedom of speech, although if he sympathizes with people should be concerned that others also want to enjoy the site as much as he enjoys it.
well, the issue is that not all people like that kind of criticism, and they could take it as an hostile attack, if that is a missunderstanding, clarifying this is another problem if there is a lack of it, also, from my point of view, it seems the problem of interpretation of intent depends on how the word is addressed, if the same message is done differently it can have a different and better effect on everyone involved, plus, what one considers a fallacy or irrational, another would not consider it as such, so taking that into consideration should be important, and there lies another problem, who believes to be right may actually be wrong, given that I very much agree with this:
To take this in mind to be able to coexist peacefully in a matter of speaking, should be a a good thing, if you care. It is my view that perhaps you lack diplomatic skills
..........................
Yes, the Haven forum is different, which the nature of it demands to be more careful about what to post there, but you are right, one often don't realise which Discussion is replying to, until it had already done so.
Yeah, that may be one of the reasons some NTs may not like aspies, as well aspies with other aspies, for that matter.

I've made a certain philosophical adjustment to my personal outlook that I call "negative appeal". Basically, the idea is that not everyone is going to like me, and that I should use this to my advantage by determining what kinds of people I don't like, and then taking pride when they don't like me either. It sounds a bit weird, but liken it to say Marylin Manson and the Christian right in the mid 90's. The Christians were never going to buy his albums anyway, so he lost nothing by angering them. Plus, the kind of people that might buy his albums were the sorts that would be impressed by the Christians hating him, a win/win situation. I take a similar view on my interactions with others, I don't like people that aren't reasonable, can't accept criticism, have no sense of humor, etc, so I enjoy tweaking their tails a bit and take pride in their animosity. It's like the reverse of being proud of having smart friends, pride in dumb or unreasonable enemies.

I assume it is brutal honesty, some apies know this, which can give them trouble with relationships and people, NTs and other aspies as well.

I can go along with that. I think it would be nice if we could all just be blunt and direct, and if we all took responsibility for our own feelings instead of blaming someone else when we get bent out of shape. I got mad at a co-worker one day. I apologized later. It wasn't his fault I got mad.

"You lack diplomacy" ... I've heard that at from every supervisor I've ever had, including those in the United States Navy! And if they thought I was abrasive ...
Yet when I try to use diplomacy (as I understand it), I'm told that what I lack is sincerity!
I'll stick with being blunt and direct, and let the folks in Human Resources, Marketting, and Sales handle the diplomatic chores. I'm the guy they bring in to answer technical questions, after the clients and vendors have been softened up and warned that "Fnordie's a little abrasive, but he's a crackerjack engineer!"
(Yes, they've used the word "Crackerjack" ...

I've been doing the same thing for years, nice to see I'm not a complete and utter freak.

hah, so I bet your kids are good at push ups now? Though what usually prompts you to pull over? Is it the noise level, distraction, or what?
It was usually physical conflict or outright defiance that was the deal breaker. Noise and distraction I could deal with just a threat to pull over. I refuse to take sides when both are being jerks. Also, I am an only child and never understood the dynamics of a sibling relationship. Yes. My kids are good at push-ups...also sit-ups, jumping jacks, and running laps around the house. We never cared for spanking and never much understood grounding. Calisthenics was the only thing we could think of to do. Seems to have worked pretty well. They are teens and we still sometimes do it.
