Yeah! I HATE when parents force their religion on kids. My classmate said she's "Catholic, but not religious" (seriously) which basically means "My parents taught/force me to be Catholic, but I don't like to go to church because it is boring and thus am not religious."


That person may find God later on in life. Young people usually aren't very keen on religion.

There are enough people out there over the age of 40 that have not 'found God' to tell me chances are if I keep being skeptical about the world, I too will never. Perhaps this is because skepticism is not what leads you to God, but rather fear or questions answered by ignorant means will surely.

I had some difficult times in my faith from 17 to 18, but I am a Christian.

I was raised Catholic and attended Catholic schools from 4th-12th grade levels. I was confirmed in 8th grade, the same year I felt an attraction to the Monastic life.

Discovered girls, rock music, and Wicca in high school. I read a lot about Wicca, and had a Wiccan girlfriend, but never really practiced it. I mostly had(and still have) a certain resentment of Christian proselytism.

I acquired some George Harrison KRSNA books in the summer of 2005, and dabbled in that. I even learned to read Devanagari...for about a week.

I've been toying with the idea of becoming a Catholic again or joining the Episcopal Church the past few years, but, as I mentioned, I'm still recovering from my resentment of Christianity.

I discovered The Baha'i Faith on an OKCupid test a few months ago, and I'm preparing to declare and enroll myself with the Baha'is.

I don't think that many religious people just pick up on what they were raised with. Although, if they aren't presented with any other option, that's likely where they'll turn. Personally, I would have gone back to Christianity because I can't hide from the faith that I have recently recovered...and been miserable. Since I found the Baha'is, I can have my faith and enjoy it too!
