Worst parents on film?

Stan Smith from American Dad is pretty awful parent too. He cut Steve from the football team he coached. He got a machine that faked rain to stop Steve from going the the father son baseball type game & he had a professional player to pretend to be his son instead. But the worst is in one ep Stan & Francine were fighting about how to raise Steve & Stan cloned Steve to raise as he wanted. He was really hard with the clone & the clone got so messed up he kidnapped the real Steve & pretended he ran away & took the real Steve's place. The clone was doing deranged stuff with cats & when he was found out to be the clone he commented about how he was keeping the real Steve alive incase he needed organs but was going to kill him instead.

Holly Sargis' father in Badlands. A parent killing their own child's pet is pure evil in my eyes.

-Most of the parents from Stephen King's IT. ("I worry about you, Beverly. I worry about you a LOT." *shudder*)
-Elsa and Anna's parents from FROZEN. Well-meaning or not, their actions really made everything worse.

Anne Boleyn's father in The Tudors. He cared more for wealth and power than his children.

Viktor in the Underworld film series. He condemned his own daughter to death.

Henry II in The Lion in Winter.
Frank Fitts in American Beauty.

Mr. Perry in Dead Poets Society.

Nucky's father, Ethan Thompson, in Boardwalk Empire.

The mother in "Mommie Dearest". Also, the grandmother in "Flowers in the Attic"----actually, the MOTHER in "Flowers in the Attic" was not MUCH better, because she ALLOWED the grandmother to abuse her children.

Max's parents from Parenthood. They mean well and obviously love their children but they are so overprotective of Max's every feeling that they aren't allowing him to learn to deal with the negative stuff life will throw at him, the way it throws negative stuff at everyone.

James Dean's parents in East of Eden.

Anyone remember the Dinosaurs sitcom? Earl Sinclair was your typical dumb dad in dinosaur form, and he was not the best parent in the world. Like one episode he changed Baby's diaper ONCE, and it was such an awful experience he decided to potty train Baby, even though he was still too young. He ended up restraining him to the potty chair and tried feeding prunes to him until went. He did realize in the end he shouldn't be forcing his infant to go potty when he wasn't ready, but you now how dumb parents have Aesop amnesia.

Another time he took the baby's cupcake and ate it right in front of him because he thought he would get crumbs in the car, which made the baby cry. When his wife said "Earl, that was horrible!", he told her "Actually it was quite moist". Then he got pulled over by the Parent Police and more hilarity ensued when he was trying to learn to be a better parent but did things like "murder" the baby's imaginary friend.

Too bad that series had such a downer ending, although it was to be expected since they were dinosaurs.

Betty and Don Draper on Mad Men. She is insane, cold, selfish, and will only accept perfection from her kids. Also as the daughter gets older Betty is jealous that she isn't more attractive than her daughter. Don is clueless about what his kids do or want or need, and he can seem to really easily just put them out of his mind but he does seem to actually be concerned and also doesn't seem to always disregard what they are saying and feeling and thinking.

If we are counting shows as well, Mr. and Mrs. Turner form Fairly Oddparents have to be the most neglectful parents ever. And the sad part is in the earlier seasons they did care about Timmy, but as the show started to hit seasonal rot, well...
