Lau - Had you any proper comprehension(1) or understanding(2) skills, you may have noticed my hair and clothing from the second picture were identical to those in the other(3). Using this information, someone with half a brain(4) could have properly deduced the pictures were taken at the same time(5). Nice try, though.. but your remark was moreso a display of total ignorance(6). The shower curtains are .. hell, I don't fully know what it is myself. It's not pirates, though(7). But would that help you throw in another cheap shot? You've already tried bashing looks(8), then someone's bathroom curtains(9). Does your lowliness know no limits? (10) :P
  1. I believe my comprehension skills are well above average.
  2. Ditto for understanding.
  3. I have no idea what relevance this has. Most people do not restyle their hair for each photo opportunity. I assume you do not throw away your wardrobe after each shot, either.
  4. (checks)Yes, I have one half brain, left, and another half brain, right... and they're connect via my corpus callosum. (Lucky that, as I was diagnosed with epilepsy, when a child, but it never went to that level of intervention. The subdural haematoma didn't do more than squeeze them a bit.)
  5. No such deduction is justifiable. If you appeared to be a very different age in the two pictures, it might be possible to infer a sequence in time, but even then, it would hardly be indisputable.
  6. Plain guesswork, I admit. My logic vaguely went like this. If you were going to post an undoctored image, you would have just posted the one you had derived the avatar from. The fact that you didn't, led me to assume that you had lost that one, and had been forced to recreate a similar picture. You had done the new image in somewhat of a rush, hence the mistake with the bad (clever?) lighting, which does not match the first image at all.
  7. Pirates. I didn't look very closely. Old boats. My mistake. So sue me.
  8. I don't believe I have. My comments, when I posted the slightly de-obfusticated image were "For those who wonder what Ramsus' image looks like: <image>. I.e. nothing special.". At the time, I wasn't even aware it was you (technically, it might not even be you now). I just found the avatar to be a vague irritation. Quite a few people don't have the tools / skill to un-mess-with an image. I just did it for my own interest, but then posted the result for those who couldn't do it (or couldn't be bothered to). My "nothing special" was only slightly meant ambiguously. I mainly meant that the avatar wasn't something distasteful - just a snapshot of a normal, young person. The ambiguity was only in so far as you don't have two heads, or some other gross deformity. If you read something deeper than that into it, I really can't claim to be the author.
  9. Actually, I refrained from pretty much the whole idea of commenting on the location. It certainly looked like a bathroom, but you were saying "the lighting is fine on my monitor" in conjunction with it, which got me to wondering why on earth one would have lighting on one's monitor, and why that would be in a bathroom. I thought "leave well enough alone", at that point.
  10. Probably not.

I hope you are enjoying this as much as I. It's so rare to get someone to type in all caps - it does liven up the place, don't you know.

PS. I doubt that I shall be replying, although, who knows, like Shadexiii, I might change my mind.

PPS. I don't suppose this is the right moment to ask if you have apologised to Doordoctor yet?

Corrected.

Do not correct me. You are a troll.

For starters, your insult at scrulie.

Then, your rather flattering assessment of doordoctor's intelligence.

Finally, you took offence at comments at what was a poorly lit photo (which, I must say, says more about your lack of photography skill rather than 'insecurities'), and escalated it.

While shadexiii, et al could have done more to stop this thread getting out of hand, you had, from the outset of this thread, set out to be a troll.

In closing, in relation to your little war here, quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.

You still havn't provided that quote.

I give up. There's no point if you simply deny it, or say I'm wrong. That's not an argument, and much of this lengthy set of posts hasn't been an argument.

OWNDIZZLED!

If you say so.

Anyways, as Quatermass asked, I'm letting this go. It wasn't an argument. You addressed about half of the points brought up, and yet whined if anyone didn't address one of the ones you brought up. You set rules for the other side, then didn't follow them yourself. Go ahead and tell me I'm wrong, but I'm beginning to think Calandale is right about this whole thing, this is little more than a waste of time at this point.

He just wants to feel like he's more powerful than someone else. Just let him have it or this "argument" will start back up needlessly.

Quatermass, I'd like to ask you how you feel about having been misquoted earlier on. I saw the misquote, and wondered what might have happened to cause you to think that shadexiii was trolling (other than the fact that he said he had been :) ).

I had always assumed that deliberate misquoting was contrary to netiquette, at the very least. I've just checked with RFC 1855, and it doesn't get a mention. I suppose it just assumes some base level of civilisation.

There's an RFC on netiquette?

Lau's life story:
YOU ARE UGLY IN YOUR PICTURE AND USING DARKNESS TO HIDE INSECURITIES!
*Ramsus posts a fully lit one*
YEAH WELL, YOU HAVE UGLY CURTAINS!
*Lau thinks for a day, then responds*
UGH.. AND YOU HAVE NO NETIQUETTE!

Ahahahaha.

If you are talking about Ramsus' switching around of names in his 'corrected quote', well, I feel like sending a hit squad of Daleks after Ramsus, but that plan is scuppered for two reasons: one, that is unbecoming of me as a mod, and two, well, have you seen the telephone prices to call Skaro these days?

I'll tell you what, Quatermass... give me the number... I've got Skype (1p a minute to anywhere/when) and I'm not a mod. I'll call them. I might have to do a bit of name-dropping, but that'll be OK, I hope. I'll mention the pit, and they'll be straight in, I guess.

Oh, and Calandale, there's a RFC for everything. See RFC 1149, for instance.

The one in Hobbes Lane... with the Martians... where you went a bit doolally. Actually, I'm now fairly sure the Daleks have never met the Martians. They'd probably get on well with each other. Maybe I won't mention it after all. I call them in the morning.

Some more RFCs
