Should we pull support from Israel?

This isn't just a rhetorical question: could somebody tell me why the US is supporting Israel? There has to be something in it for them, even if strategic. I don't really know how to answer the question "should support for Israel be pulled" because I don't have enough information to work with.

Yes, more wars than the ones youve already started. War in Israel, with Israel.. which is what you have resorted to with other nations you lack leverage with. The US severed diplomatic relations with Iran in like 1979.. all you have after that is posturing and threats. Once the oil for food thing was proven to be a load of shite, you moved onto invading Iraq.. so if you lack leverage with the Israeli government when you cut funding, you have little else to fall back on but threats of war.
