Why do Europeans seem to hate Christianity?
Oh, and you'd probably like to know why we refer to you as Septics.
Septic Tanks, rhyming slang for Yanks; also referring to the fact some of you are full of sh*t.
(I think Wiggerbeater means that the Starbucks on the West Coast has different colored coffee mugs from the Starbucks on the East Coast.)
It is probably difficult to understand what it is like to be an American, brought up with no experience of diversity how would you even understand it. I have just been watching a film about India and the explosion of diversity there - I think the only think the Americans understand is the explosion.
You must be an expert on diversity. Growing up in a country that is 90% white afterall...

LOL ya. We have states bigger than most countries in Europe. I know travelling from Switzerland to Italy or Luxembourg must be a huge culture shock.
I love how you always must reach into the past to find any glory about your country. It must be so disheartening.
And I love how you obviously have NO idea about Europe. I suppose we all have cockney accents and live in castles as well do we?
Having big states means jackshit. Its just a larger area to be the same in. Everybody is far from being all white anywhere in Europe, and you seriously overestimate how popular your american sh** actually is. Read my post again to see how UN-homogenous we are.
At least we have a history, my friend, and a damn long one. Like all countries, we have a chequered past, with glorious victories and ignominious defeats. Dont forget that Europeans at one point or another have conquered most of the world. Hows your empire building going? Oh yeah, its not. You cant even handle police actions without getting spanked. Thats not hugely glorious is it?
And wasnt Elvis inspired by Black music? That would be originating in Africa then, not America. Oh, and tea might be a chinese/indian thing, but who exported it world wide? Was it you? No, it wasnt.
Hubris and arrogance always lead to a downfall. Now how about you stop showing up all the Americans who arent arrogant self-centered ill-educated gits. (Of course ill-educated isnt actually your fault, as its a notorious fact that American history lessons are more than a little inaccurate.) .
Actually we have troops based in almost every country on earth. We are the hands down leader in military, political, economic, and cultural power. We are the only superpower on earth, and have no peers. It's very hard to take serious your posts about not being interested in american culture, when you are typing it on an American website. America is the world's guilty pleasure. We are the world's largest cultural exporter. We are the best at selling our things. From the sublime to the ridiculous. You have obviously bought into it.

Yeah, OK. Tell that to the Chinese. Carry on believing you're the only superpower. Keep thinking that your army is the bestest and hardest and meanest in the world, whilst people with AK47s and pyjamas own your "elite" forces.
Oh, and do you really think that just because a website is hosted by America, and that people post on it, that means we all buy into american culture wholesale? Its not as if this site even involves the wonders of your culture anyway. Most of the posts I see about the good old USA are people IN the USA complaining about the USA, and its activities abroad, or its treatment of its citizens, or its monkey president, or the way it spends your taxes.
Its funny how few things I see for sale over here that are American made. Coke, McDonalds and Starbucks.. our shelves are full of produce from a lot of places, but very little of it is American, and most of the stuff that is is made under license in Taiwan or China anyway. Funny how so few of the cars on our roads are american too. In fact, I can go for days without seeing american goods. Go exporters!
You do realise that above and beyond your dubious military activities, one of the main reasons why many people hate americans is because of the mouthy, arrogant "we are the best at everything in the world" attitudes some of you display. Every forum, every irc channel, they all have at least one gobby yank telling everyone how great his country is, and its usually down to a complete lack of knowledge of the rest of the world.
Ahh, the arrogance of youth eh? Give it another hundred years or so and people might actually care.

Why do I suspect that you're the type to rave about kicking all of the 'illegal immigrants' (read: brown hispanic people who are roman catholic and (horror!) speak a different language)?
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
We are bankrupting ouselves with our delusions of infinite military might. I don't see that as a good thing.
In Europe, they at least admit that there is a cost to war.

Wiggerbeater: you've made a fool out of yourself yet again. WrongPlanet.Net is a Canadian website. Alex Plank is the founder, and he is from British Columbia. Quit while you are behind.

Most Americans are European-descended, which means that, past the 1800s, European Americans' descendants have just as much claim as yours did.

Up until about 40 years ago (excluding the goldrush of the 1850s) Australia was primarily of European/British descent; from the mid 60s on was when we started to get some Asian immigration and later some Vietnamese refugees etc. Our culture is therefore linked more to European influences, and apart from the stuff we get on TV, and places like Maccas and some dept stores, we have no real connection with 'American' culture at all. It's been said that, say, musically if you don't make it in America, you don't make it. Australia was the first to break ABBA into the world scene, and also Blondie as well. The Bee Gees were English to begin with, but we honed their talent before they left in 1967 to sign up with Robert Stigwood. Matter of fact, Hendrix actually got his worldwide recognition in England, when he had Chas Chandler (ex Animals) as his manager, and Suzi Quatro had most of her success in both England and Australia due to Chinn & Chapman, the British songwriting team from the early 70s (Sweet, Smokie etc).
So you can see why I'm obviously sticking up for Europe in this debate, because they are not only bigger, better, older and more talented; without Europe or England, we would not exist.

To some events, possibly, but that precludes events occuring after that date somewhat, and is no excuse for overbearing "americans rule the world" propaganda. Its just a country, like any other, with its own upsides and downsides, and its fortunes will wax and wane, as do everybody elses. Its main advantages in post war years have sprung from its relative geographical isolation, coupled with its size, large population, and access to internal sources of base materials. Thus we have a large manufacturing base spared it the ravages of two successive world wars. This left it with an undamaged financial and economic grounding, giving it an advantage that other nations more directly involved could not have had. Postwar economic neo-colonialism and the response to the perceived communist threat have given rise to its "power" as a superpower.
Congratulations for doing well
However, the belief in american superiority over all others is an unsubstantiated myth, and such posturing, and "Global Policing" has not had the stabilizing effect on world politics that they might have hoped. This form of heavyhandedness breeds resentment amongst both enemies and allies, and whilst earning the scorn and resentment of your foe is not unusual, to cause it in your friends is an easy way to lose those friends. The young europeans who get told that their countries suck, are utterly subservient to the requirements of Uncle Sam, and owe their existence or freedoms to the GIs and Marine Corps today, are like as not, the politicians and voters of tomorrow. Some of us are already voting anyway. Others remember what America has done, or not done, and how helpful some of it hasnt been.
With the knowledge of the world only a google away, the lie can be put to almost any propaganda, and patronizing "we rule the world" BS easily put down.
(And lets be clear. I dont hate America, or Americans. Some of my best friends are Americans. I'm just tidying up a few irksome details.)

This would have taken you 2 seconds to find out on Google. We'll just add this to your list of of other inaccuracies that I had to correct you on.

How is American superiority an unsubstantiated myth? Is our status as a lone superpower a myth? Do you honestly not think the US is the greatest military, scientific, economic, political, and cultural force on earth? Give me a break. Not all countries are equal.
Seventeen of the top 20 universities in the world are American, as are 35 of the top 50. American universities employ 70% of the world's living Nobel prize-winners, produce about 30% of the world's output of articles on science and engineering and 44% of the most frequently cited articles.

Enjoy the top of world while you have it. China is catching up and fast. They've gone from making cheap knock-off Mickey Mouse T-shirts to making copies that are not only equal to what they knock off but are better. Take the Meizu SmartOne for example, it's similar to the iPhone but is of superior quality - runs with more networks and has no DRM issues, not mention the estimated market price will be around $150.
This similar to what Japan did but it's happening much faster and the ceiling is much higher thanks to China's boundless workforce. It won't be long till made in China is regarded with the same respect as made in Japan.

Who cares? the FOUNDER is from British Columbia, hence it is a CANADIAN site.
Here's some things that the Americans did NOT pioneer:
Steam Engine - Robert Stevenson (British)
Telephone - Alexander Graeme Bell (Scottish)
Flight - Montgolfier Brothers (French) - Don't care about powered flight, it was the first flight.
Television - James Logie Baird (Scottish)
First Heart Transplant - Dr Christiaan Barnard (South African)
Radar - British
Cochlear Implant and Bionic Ear - Australian
Radio - Marconi (Italian)
Internal Combustion Engine and Car - Daimler & Benz (German)
Space Travel and Exploration - Sputnik (Russian 1957), Yuri Gagarin (Russian 1961) and Mir Space-station Russian 1986) Skylab, although launched in 1973 by the US was a failed attempt and crashed out of orbit in 1979, and was hardly used.
Also, the rockets used were pioneered in Germany with the V1 and V2 design.
That is only some of the inventions and concepts that WERE NOT pioneered by Americans. There are plenty of others, but I would need to do some more checking.

Yes, but pretty soon the Chinese people are going to stand up and not let international corporations pay them peanuts. Then those corps will leave. China is not the last stop on the worldwide quest for cheap labor. Their manufacturing will slow down. And a new pool of cheap labor will be found elsewhere. It's like clockwork. China wont keep this pace forever, and doesnt want to keep this pace forever.
And Japan grew much quicker than China did.

Well the address says the US. The site's address is american, and Plank's address is american. I think it is safe to say it is an American site.
lol. Alex went to high school in Virginia. Where do you get that he is Canadian?
