I think the big secret is that the apollo atronauts saw evidence that other intelligentbeings had already been to the moon before them. Either past visitors from earth thousands or millions of years ago, or evidence of alien visitation.

Are you kidding???

The Apollo spacecraft was equiped with plenty of shielding to prevent the crew from being irradiated. It can be done you know.

Only few of us are the chosen (the free thinkers) about getting the knowledge of the truth, the rest are just sheeple.

I am aware of the theories about finding evidence of extraterrestrials on the moon. However I don't think they would of covered up the evidence for the following 2 reasons:

- Discovering Extraterrestrial life first would be another victory for the USA in the cold war
- It would greatly reduce the chance of a nuclear war, suddenly the cold war would seem a lot more childish when extraterrestrials are added into the equation. While the cold war itself would probably continue at least the doomsday clock would be at a more comfortable location.
- The space program would then receive virtually limitless funding because attempts to make full contact with extraterrestrials
would suddenly become both very practical and of great interest.
- Whoever discovered real extraterrestrials or absolute evidence thereof would have their name spoken for as long as humanity exists. I honestly wouldn't care if my superiors wanted to suppress it, the chance at that kind of fame doesn't come twice to anyone.

The father of this pathetic conspiracy theory was the late Bill Kaysing. Much of his later books were rejected by numerous publishing companies and I'd be suprised if his first book We have never been to the Moon! is still in print. I find myself exceedingly skeptical of their claim that Tranquility Base is completely unresolvable to ALL telescopes; particularly the Hubble Space Telescope.

Wikipedia deals briefly with the idea of using telescopes, you can find it here. The sites are much too small to be viewed using Hubble. However, as I pointed out earlier in the thread, the LRO was, at least as of a few years ago, planned to be used to image the sites after it launches.

Has anyone brought up the Laser Reflectors left on the moon by Neil Armstrong? Yes it is true that Lunakhod 1 & 2 had laser reflectors but if the conspiracy theory is true then there should be ONLY 2 locales on the moon where laserbeams will be bounced back. And what about radar astronomy of the lunar surface?

Lunar landing sites are not too small to be resolved by the Hubble scope - they're too close. It's like trying to take a good look at one of your own eyelashes.
