Sadly, nothing to report. I can't even seem to catch him on-line to pop off another 'hey that was fun'. Maybe I scared him off his gmail, too. 8O

But thanks for getting the thread back on track!

Did I mention that he's moving in about a week? :(

I'm afraid that I am going to lose him because he wants to be lost. These are the times that make me question my sanity. Did I imagine everything? Cuz, why would you not want more of something that feels so great???

I'm sorry, I'm being an insensitive twit and you guys have done your best to answer just that. Before I start rambling...

I hate to hear that, you sounded happy in your posts about him, and all your others.

It's normal to want something that makes you happy. And when that happiness is threatened, it's only natural to feel that way.

All I can say is to hang in there and give him some time. Just wait and see. :)

Thanks Fantom. I sort of regret posting that--it was a moment of self-pity when the absolute worst-case scenario hit me.

I am happy about him. When things don't feel so urgent and I'm a little less raw, I know I will be happy for and proud of the progress we made. I suspect a lot of walls came down for him these last few months. They did for me.

AND...I need to keep in mind that every time so far that I've thought all is lost, something happens and he surprises me.

I'm a little late, but yeah, that sounds like a bummer. :ncool: But you didn't mention how far he was moving away? I need to know this before i can evaluate the "bummerness", and give a proper response.

I'll be "swimming" around til i hear an update. :fish:

^Ya nut.

Well, he's moving a couple states away. However, it's my home state and his school is <45 minutes from where my parents live. I have lots of family and friends there--I do visit.

I love hanging, but I have to have ALOT of down/alone time after I do. In fact, I prefer being alone for the most part. I suspect he's pretty much the same way. So, it's not like things couldn't continue apace. My moment of frustration this morning came when I thought maybe he has already thought this through and is keeping a polite distance because he's leaving. I can see how he might view it as a lot of effort for possible low returns.

It doesn't help that he has absolutely no baseline for any of this. He doesn't know what it's like to be in a relationship, let alone break up, and I'm guessing he is assuming that that is what would have to happen. (this is a lot of conjecture, but bear with me) So, this is why I have been itching to sit with him in person, and just tell him I want to continue finding more out about him, at whatever pace he's comfortable with, and that I have no problem with the distance. I don't even have a problem with only hearing from him every week or so, as long as I know that I will be hearing from him.

All of that is hard to expressin a one-sided email.
