I do care a lot about what people think of me. I'm older now though so I guess fashion matters less than it used to.

I wear what feels good and looks good. If either one of those factors arent there, I wont wear the clothes. There are some clothing items that I have that I simply hate wearing and wont wear because they are no longer soft. Or I dont like the way they look on me anymore. Now I am down to like 5 shirts and 2 pants. This isnt counting my dress/formal clothes or sweaters. Just my casual wear.
Black cargo pants, near black jeans, white polo, black short sleeved spandex shirt, white long sleeved spandex shirt, black long sleeved shirt, gray ribbed shirt, khaki ribbed shirt.

...I really need to go shopping. The problem is its rare to find anything that both fits me and I like.

I generally have huge (HUGE) problems to find something that looks okay to me AND to other people. I hate shopping, too. But willpower gets me through it, kind of. I just try to find something that does look good, but isn't too much of anything. Plain but hip ish you could say.

I don't have many clothes, but most clothes have colours that are easy to match. Like, I have one pair of jeans that looks good with anything brown, yellow, and red, and another one for flashier colours like green or purple. Then I have a black pair that looks good with pretty much anything. That's three pairs of jeans. Then I have one black belt that looks good on pretty much anything (except with the black jeans), so I'm wearing it all the time pretty much. As for tops, I have two... what are they called, vests? They're like sweaters, but with a "zipper" in the middle. A black one which looks good on everything (except with the black jeans) and a purple one (which is good on the black jeans). Then I have some neutral coloured basic tops and that are pretty much all of my clothes.

The only reason I try to look fashion-ish at all is because it just makes things so much easier. Others seem to accept you straight away. They probably think like "Ooh! She is one of our kind!!" and come to mix. I prefer spending some extra money and going shopping. I could choose not to spend that money and not go through the trouble of shopping, but I do it for the bonus it gives me when it comes to socialising...

I screen print and frequently wear many of my own designs......and lately I have been practicing altering t-shirts...beyond just cutting all the necks out because they strangle me...I have a sorta rugged individualistic raggle-taggle look going...but don't even manage to pull that off too well...It recently dawned on me that wearing pants that are not 4-6 sizes too big...actually looks better...

I like weird skirts, and if they don't have pockets, i wear shorts with pockets underneath....

I dress what I feel..Im a bit of a redneck.I wear jeans, a shirt, and a hat.I have a camo coat, and a camo hat (I usually wear my boston red sox cap though)., which i dont wear all at once unless hunting or paintballing or dirtbiking or outdoor work.I have dresspants, and such for when I will be working in a lawfirm after next year .

I live in a rural area, so I wear basically the same thing... camo cargo pants (love all the pockets) or jeans, T-shirt, unbuttoned overshirt, hat. Sort of the town uniform... only difference is some don't wear the overshirt and some don't wear the T-shirt, but button up the collared shirt.

It really looks odd to see someone dressed up around here... but I do have my going out to dinner clothes... nice pants, buttoned shirt, jacket or vest or coat.

I haven't been to anything fancier in years.

The part in my brain that tells me to find a mate is beginning to activate, and that If I change my appearance a bit by dressing a bit nicer, then my chances are finding a mate will be better

I was often told that what I was wearing was old-fashioned. I have a mix of clothes but mostly they are from the high street shops and bought recently so are probably fashionable. I don't care much about fashion but I can get very difficult if the colour is wrong.

I don't wear jeans for two reasons: the denim makes the back of my knees get a rash, and everyone else seems to wear them. So I instead wear cargo pants, preferably black, with any hoody that I like. I don't really care what others think. Anyone worth being a friend won't mind.

Fascion is just another way of getting people to conform and follow the crowd, something I disagree with.

I do have nicer clothes which I wear when going out to a nice restaraunt or seeing a guy I really like.I met him online and have met him in person.He likes me for who I am.
I also have these nice clothes for the purpose of when I start working in a lawfirm after I finish college.I cant wear my cargo pants, etc in a law office.

I know what you mean. NT girls obsess over fashion and their hair i guess thats just them though. I have never really been into the whole fashion thing

Oh, that. That's just a social constuct as artificial as the matrix itself. Indeed, it's part of the Matrix, insofar as the matrix refers to our culture.

I'm a goth. I usually wear all black. Sometimes dark red, dark purple. But apparently no one cares how I dress because everyone thinks I am now good looking, probably because of the addition of makeup????. I just wear a lot of makeup and hair gel, and am skinny which makes other people think you are desirable but really it means you are too broke for tons of desserts you used to always eat with every meal. lol. Interestingly, before I was a goth I was constantly getting negative comments about my style of dress when I was trying super hard to fit in. I decided no matter what I did I'd never fit in and f**k what anyone thinks I will show you just how much I don't care about your BS. Some people looked at me like they had a bad taste in their mouth(anyone over 37 except for half of men), but something unexpected happened: MORE people thought I looked good and smiled at me when I walked past! WHAT?? I thought I would still be treated as a reject no matter what I did and as soon as I started dressing like a reject, types of people(preppy) that used to snub me are now looking at me in admiration? WTF!! ! In a store, everyone is usually staring at me. I can tell they try not to, and I always see them looking back at me when my head is turned. It makes me feel kind of scrutinized or judged like they are watching my every action to see if I do anything that they don't approve of.
Pop fashion has gotten extremely weird(meaning obnoxious and stupid-looking). I walk into a store and find shirts made for a baby subjected to a enlarging ray, colors that clash horribly(yellow with brown? Light blue with lima bean green? neon orange and neon green? Are fashion designers going blind?) and patterns that also clash(vertical stripes mixed with horizontal stripes or polka dots). This is why I shop at thrift stores!

I'm still figuring the fashion stuff out. As in what I like to wear and feel good in. I've gone through many styles. 'Don't give a rats'. 'Neat casual'. Some of my goth clothes kick arse, but I don't feel like standing out these days when I'm sick and anxious most of the time . At the moment it's jeans and a great black t shirt until I decide I want something different, or find something better.

It amazes me though how much effort it takes to appear socially acceptable if you're a woman! The shopping, the makeup, the haircuts all the time........ How the hell do other chicks do it? You'd have to be thinking about yourself and fixing you up 24/7!
