Soft things against my skin

plastic bottles which have a rim

creativity itself provides me the grin

to become fullfledged smile bred again.

i like the wind and sun on my face while riding passenger in a car

I like feeling small for no good reason just so that my imagination can never grow old

good conversations that i didnt expect

getting what i asked for without even feeling regret

what makes you smile??????

i smile at cute things,
like babies, kittens and puppies,
and i smile at other animals,
like snakes, bats, and guppies.

i smile at warm, soft clothes,
and my mother's warm embrace,
at my father's corny jokes,
and my sister's loving face.

i smile at my friends,
when they act like goofy kids,
when they're really very random,
or we all watch funny vids.

i smile when i've accomplished something,
and gotten someone's praise,
or when i'm tired and out of it,
and just smile in a daze.

i smile at some memory,
or joke inside my head,
and i smile at the fantasy,
of going home and back to bed.

i smile at old couples,
who still walk with hand in hand,
i smile at the desert,
Nevada's dry and dusty land.

i smile at the memory,
of digging in soft and colored dirt,
of making mud pies with the boys,
and playing tag until it hurt.

i smile when i sit and write,
in a calm and quiet space,
and when i draw some character,
or find some secluded place.

i smile at the shows i watch,
and at comic books i've read,
and at many other things,
many things i have not said.

there are so many other things,
at which i find i often smile,
that if i were to name them all,
it would take me quite awhile!

:D

I could respond like a heretic,
for I am not at all poetic.

Ack, poetry! I concede defeat from de outset.

Puppies, kittens, foals, kids (baby goats), lambs all make me smile and laugh.
Chocolate!
Thinking of my partner
good food
my garden doing well
rain
snow if I don't have to go anywhere
a good discussion
my dog... she's such a goof-ball
really, there are just so many wonderful things in my life

I love remembering happy stuff from my childhood such as shows I used to watch which aren't on the air anymore. On the same idea, remembering stuff we used to have way back then like food (eg. Hostess potato chips, premade Cristal Light drinks, limited edition paw shaped Cheetos) and toys (eg. Koosh balls, Yoyo ball)... Good thing that Wikipedia exists to capture all of the nostalgia. :D

I smile at the poetic fashion in which you and nicky have presented the things that make you smile...

Mine would be strawberries, bird chicks that follow their mothers (coots, magpies, grebes, etc), Rachel Grey from the X-Men, the sheer magnificence of trees, people who call me 'cute', and a certain lady who lives miles away but resonates with me quite well.

And in line with bizmack's second post, my favourite words (that may or may not make me smile) in the English language are 'jejune', 'tantrum', 'audacity', and 'elegant'. My favourite Dutch word may well be 'onverrichterzake'.

Spinning!

I forgot spinning.

Spinning is good.

Spinning in public is hilarious, but for the sake of others having any faith in my mental health, I refrain.
