First of all, if you're unfamiliar, I'm talking about the plant Kava Kava (Piper methysticum).
It is used in a variety of ceremonies in its native South Pacific island habitat. But it is also used in modern society as a remedy for anxiety.

I'm just curious if any of you have had any experience with it. I've done the research and I've tried it a few times with generally good results, but I am always after more information.

I am desperately in need of something to help my anxiety. It's just constant, and overwhelming at times. It's beyond something that I can merely "think myself out of". I need to go to a doctor, but I can't afford it as this point in time. Something has to fill the gap. Wondering if Kava could be a solution for me.

Thanks for your replies. Anything relevant would be helpful!

Don't touch this 8O
In the past three years, kava kava root has been linked to liver problems ranging from minor inconveniences to potentially deadly conditions. Individuals taking kava kava root have suffered liver problems including hepatitis, jaundice, cirrhosis, liver malfunction, and even liver failure. Kava kava root users in Europe and the United States have had to receive liver transplants, and the full extent of potential damages resulting from kava kava root has not yet been discovered.

Try a nice Kentucky Bourbon, it's quite relaxing, and very habit forming.
It also damages your liver and give you bad breath.

No help here with the anxiety (except Meditation, of course)

but, try taking a teaspoon of baking soda every day, in a glass of water on an empty stomach.
It's great for insomnia and general 'acidification' problems.

I found out about the Autism/acidification connection when I was first diagnosed
and doing the intensive research phase.

Most Aspies/Auties have a high systemic acidity and it is a major contributing factor
to many of our other issues.

Luckily, it's the most easily treated.
But, it's the most over-looked!

Cured my insomnia as a very welcome surprise side-effect! :D

For insomnia try a pint at bedtime. Stout preferably, or ale if you prefer.

Other anxiety remdies include (but are not limited to)
ECT
Correct application of small firearms
Liberal application of currency.
