Yep, I'm a big stop-motion fan!

Get flourescent lights installed all over your house! You can live in a stop-motion world!

I can't say I've heard of most of those - though I love Wallace and Gromit, and their spin-offs (Shaun the Sheep, Curse of the Were-Rabbit), Creature Comforts, and Chicken Run.

Although I think some of the best stop-motion animation in the world is the f/x work of Ray Harryhausen

I don't know anything about the people who made this one, but i like it a lot...

Robot Chicken is my favorite of all of those.

I like any plot involving Arthur Kensington (the nerd).

I know it's cliche, but my favorite stop motion movie, and effects movie in general is King Kong. Mainly because so much fx ground was broken in that movie.

I do love the work of Jan Svankmajer, Will Vinton and in particular The Brothers Quay, who did a lot of phenomenally nightmarish work. I think when it's done more artistically like that it's much more pleasing to look at, as opposed to Rankin-Bass's films which just look cheap and clunky.

While stop-motion-action is dated in movies today as a special effect, I still remember it's use fondly from the horror and scifi movies of my childhood. Ray Harryhaussen was the best with creating monsters in those Sinbad movies, The Ymir, and others.

A company based in Oregon specializes in stop-motion animation. In fact, this company has a first look deal with Universal Pictures.

I just came across a snippet from The Boxtrolls the other day. Looks amazingly smooth.

I'd like to see The Smurfs and/or Garfield both get rebooted through stop-motion animation. However, since both Smurfs movies and both Garfield movies were poorly received, I believe that rebooting both franchises as fully animated movies would be a better idea than making another pair of crappy live action/CG movies.
