Does anyone else do it? Mine is uneven and looks terrible but I don't like going to the hairdressers.

I've been cutting my own hair for about 25 years. Before that my Father did it.

Its actually pretty easy if you keep it short and tight. Number 7 clipper on the top. Number 5 clipper on the sides and back.

Once, when I was 6. I was getting too inpatient waiting for my dolly's hair to grow back so I cut my own :P

But other than that, no way. I'd never be able to cut or even trim my hair evenly.

I've cut my own hair for the last seven years as I absolutely hate going to the barbershop or any hair-cutting place. Then again, I shave all my hair off so it's not very hard to do but I assume that unless you want something long and fancy, it can be done alone.

Yep, you don't need much skill to get a straight cut with a razor.

Now, you sometimes need a gentle hand and finesse, or you end up bleeding each time you do it (see: Daniel and his constant bleeding head).

Teachers used to send me home each time I'd do it, so that really made me not want to do it anymore. They kinda got the hint that I wasn't actually a wannabe Waffen-SS or something considering that half of my "friends" were black [who so happened to shave their heads too and never got in trouble], but that's what I'm guessing was their hate of such, as I didn't ask.

I hate going to the hairdressers too so I cut my own hair as well. For years now and I just done it again but not with a razor though. I have long hair (still) and use a scissor when it gets too long and wild.

I have long hair which is layered on the top so it frames my face, then goes down to my tailbone. I've been cutting my own hair for 20 years because hairdressers just love chopping off long hair...even when you just want a minor trim. :(

Just between you and me, I use a Flowbee. It's the type of thing you might see on late night infomercials. Works pretty good.

Been doing my own lately, but sometimes I still need a little assistance with the back.

I'll trim the bangs, but the rest needs professional work (as do I...;)

it all depends how you want it- my hair is pretty long but it's very thin so I need a lot of layers to make it look "bigger" :p that kind of cut is extremely easy to do yourself and actually looks a lot better and more even than when I used to have it done by a hairdresser.

it's good to know some geometry :P
