I go for an AS diagnosis, and after 1 session the specialist says she's going on vacation, disappears, never to be heard of again, doesn't even collect the money for that session.

- I meet someone nice on a trip, we tour a bit together, she's incredibly nice and fun, then I miss the right turn when leading us to the restaurant, she goes silent and won't hear from me again.

- I send my best elementary school friend a friend request on Facebook and she doesn't remember who I am.

Next?

I have this nice colleague that I like to work with. I take him prioritary because I always have fast feedback from him, unlike from others. He goes to the manager to tell some gossip he heard, regarding myself, without checking if it was true or not.
During the conversation with the manager, not knowing who the snitch was, I ask him to check the gossip and I name the above mentioned guy as a positive reference :D

me = big idiot

Woah. That second one is especially weird. Maybe she started to suspect you were a murderer trying to lead her into the wilderness or something? Wild guess. XD;;

Uuuh...
I met someone at art school and found out we were both members of a fetish art site. At one point I mentioned how I sometimes draw *insert controversial but technically harmless fetish here* and, even though she'd seen my gallery already, (prominently displaying some of the controversial content in question) she decided right then (and informed me politely) that she was never going to speak to me again.

Also, my Japanese teacher skipped out in the middle of the school year with no warning because (as we found out like a month later) his wife in, like, Malaysia had a baby or something (he was a totally American white guy) and we didn't have a teacher for a week. I guess that's not the same because it had nothing to do with my influence on him, but it was sure random and strange. XD; We never heard from him again. He was cool though.

Did you ever find out where she got too?

It's not just you, though. I had terrible problems 'pinning' down the psychiatrist who diagnosed me. It was only 4 sessions, but took about 6 months because he just didn't turn up a couple of times. "We're so sorry" said the receptionist, "I'll call you to arrange another session ASAP". Weeks later - still no call. So I finally call them. They've forgotten who I am. And so it goes..

How can you get to be a 'so called' professional in one of the highest paid careers if you have a habit of not bothering to turn up and then not bothering to contact the clients you've let down?

I think you've said similar before, Greentea, it seems that the social rules change at every level of status. The higher status can ignore rules that have to be religiously adhered to by the lower status. How one gets to have that higher status in the first place is the mystery. I don't know about life in general, but human social systems are totally absurd.

Hi ManErg,

Simple: she's 1 of the only 2 in the country who diagnose AS in adults with any level of professionalism. The others are very few (4-5) and total frauds, take your money (a fortune) and don't even bother giving a dx. So these 2 women do as they please with the suffering masses of adults who nowadays suddenly can't get a job because of the new "fitting in" demand being all that employers look for and we having to desperately apply for social security suddenly, because we've suddenly been left in the streets when we were able to make a nice living for decades. And with the additional economic crisis...They.Are.God.Now.Period.
