Thanks for all the replies.

It appears some people have taken offense to my usage of "dude" and "bro", but I'd like to clear up it is not gender-exclusive and is completely complementary in meaning. I am not calling any females males or anything like that.

Yeah, we got that. Trouble is, most of us don't have a lot of compadres and thus not a lot of contemporary dialect.
