I was just making a point. Bluntness and insensitivity are not exclusively Aspie traits and you, Granatelli, are proof of that!

i take no offence to any questions asked, they have ever made me smile
im on a disability support persion
my partner is also unemployed
she would love for us to have a truck full of money, live in a nice big house, the whitepicket fence, dogs and cats running around
the only thing i can really think of that keeps her with me is the fact that she does really love me
she's never cared if i dont have a job, she's seen how having to do "job seeking" stresses me out
and she also accepts that i my never work for the rest of my life
i know she wishes i could work, but she does accept that i cant
she's also considering getting into aged care or maybe disabilty work
her dad and younger brother work with people with disabilitys
so i guess im kinda lucky i found her :D

Plenty of people who are separated/divorced or never married still are really involved in the lives of their kids. There's visits, and you can go to their special events; you can trade off holidays... I mean, it will be really different from what you expected (and that sucks, believe me I know it sucks when things are different from what you expect) but there are still ways you can be involved in your kids' lives even if they don't live with you.

re. Tony Attwood--if you happen to want to know what all the crazy is about, research Maxine Aston. She's a rather incompetent counselor (with a counseling certificate, not a psychologist) who basically blames Asperger's men for ruining their marriages and giving their wives a disorder she made up. We were mostly OK with Tony Attwood until he started supporting her. Aston's "research" is so badly done they'd fail an undergraduate for doing it (I know, I've done research as an undergraduate and they'd fail me for something of that quality); and yet people still believe her. People like her are very much part of the reason why people still think it is OK to mistreat people with Asperger's.

edit: to remove the offending attack(hope i remove the rite parts)

ok
so there are ideas and theories that make things look worse than they are
?
fair enuff, lots of things like that in the world, lol
just happens that some of those things get others to listen to them
i say we find something for them to do, that will keep them locked away and trying to work whatever it is out for the rest of their lives, lol
but then again they would just write a lot of BS and say they've solved the problem, lol
googleing this maxine aston now
i did have someting clever to say but its gone now,lol

edit: i know it probaly looks worse now, lol, im trying, i really suck at useing words

To those involved:

Attacks on others, whether they are members or not, is not permitted under site rules. Attack the idea, not the person - I am posting the warning here in the thread; further instances will be dealt with accordingly.

There were several instances, by different people - thus why I made it a public post as well, so there was no confusion. You can disagree with Aston or Attwood (or anyone, for that matter), and you can attack their ideas and positions - but attacking them as people is not permitted. Thanks for taking the time to respond, and for your efforts.
