I was wondering if anyone here is currently going to school part-time, like I shall be doing when I finally return back to school. I want to know if it's helped with anxiety or if it's just a waste of time. :)

Thanks!

I would love to go to school or work full time but I just can't handle it. Part time works much better for me. I still have anxiety but the level is more manageable.

Im doing a distance education course "Bphil autism" at the university of Birmingham (UK).
ive had anxiety related to non course things such as trying to sort out fees. But apart from that
my anxiety is more manageable.

Positive aspects of distance education learning for me were.....

1, Can control the environment in which i do my coursework
2, no more classes to attend for my distance education (except 2 residential study weekends per year)
3, only a few days at college (UK)
4, more time to spend on running my house, socialising and part time work (voluntary)
5, coursework can be submitted electronically and postally
6, less fees travelling to college/university
7, can do the work at midnight if i wanted to since its all done at home
8, im not embarrassed by my aspergers/quirks when at home
9, dont have to rearrange much to fit in with distance eduction so less of a change
10, the best change was not only passing my 1st piece of work (something i was unable to do in a taught setting), but passing with my 2nd highest mark ever!

I should be getting my timetable tomorrow, but I haven't got school on Mondays until 2:30 and Fridays free. :D

I am in my first semester of college and currently part time and it's going really well. It's very low stress. I'm about to start a new class and be full time though. I have a day class that meets two days a week, a night class one night a week and an online class so I don't have to be there all day every day like high school. It's really nice. Most homework isn't exactly mandatory to do which makes it less stressful. I never really have to do things in groups (unless you're in a lab) which I appreciate. The only stressful thing is making sure I don't miss too much class, and that's just because I am a person who misses a lot.

This is what I plan to do when or if I pursue graduate studies.
