Yeah, it's pretty empty. In my opinion, if you have to open it to select what you want, it's not a quick-launch bar anymore, it's a glorified start menu.

I've not used the Quick Launch bar in a while now. I don't use it anymore. As a result I have raised my taskbar to accommodate the full date and time and also to take more programs readable in it
