What do you wear?

This is of interest to me, because I get a lot of weird comments because of how I dress, especially from family who beg for me to "look girly".

When I was younger, I couldn't wear jeans, socks that had fuzz on the inside, leggings, anything with a zipper pull that was 'jangly', anything with sequins or that made noise when I moved, sequins, buttons, I refused to wear long-sleeved shirts with shorts (I still hate shorts), anything with a collar except for maybe very soft turtlenecks, dresses (skirts I didn't mind, but I sat with my legs open and my mother chastised me for it a lot).

Now I wear...well, I've only really adapted to jeans, and they have to be very worn-in. On any given day, I can be seen wearing:
- Small men's t-shirt with the tags cut out (Usually black and from ThinkGeek unless it's my NASA t-shirt)
- black slim fit jeans or leggings
- very soft navy v-neck sweater
- black hooded zip up sweater

I will go crazy if I have to wear anything else, and I hate trying clothes on.

I was just wondering if what I wore was similar to any other members of this website, and if there was a correlation between AS and clothing choices (I'm aware of the no-tags issue, but are there any other observations that can be made?)

I've never paid much attention to what I wear. I used to wear shiny chains and necklaces with things I found on the ground. I didn't realize until many years later how 'odd' other people considered my clothing choices. I like baggy jeans and T-shirts with patterns I like on them.

As for my type of clothing, I wear skirts most of the time. I am often asked why I don't wear pants, or am dressing up. I do not like the way pants feel on my legs. I find skirts to be more freeing. 'Tis a good thing I'm female.

I will wear all sorts of tops, as long as they don't have too small of a collar. I hate feeling something on the front of my neck.

Depending on the season I've got one outfit that's my favourite and I wear it almost every time I go out (there's usually a lot of time between outings, so they're always clean for the next time). Others have commented that it's funny how I'm always wearing the same thing when I see them, and I usually play it up as a coincidence. If I have more than one day of going out in a row, I've got a few different clothing choices that I rotate through but it's usually the same pair of pants because they're my favourite and currently the only ones that really fit well.

I wear the same clothes all the time because they're comfortable and also I HATE clothes shopping for every reason you could imagine and more! I haven't bought new clothes in years - I still wear clothes I had in grade 8, which is slightly pathetic but I don't care. The only time I ever get new clothes is for christmas or birthdays if my gramma buys me something.

The softest t-shirts i can find in dark colors with the necks cut out 'cause they choke me...Many of them, I have screen-printed myself..in fact it is funny...my tiny gaggle of close friends have so many shirts I have screened for them over the years, sometimes we will all be wearing shirts that I have printed at the same time...

There are these soft stretchy dresses with high waists and no sleeves that I like, and I will wear them with overshirts...like bowling shirts and such...There are some sun dresses that I like...and I keep finding these cotton dresses made by Mossimo that are really comfy and easy to wear...I can't believe that silly clothes company would end up making such decent and sensible clothes...

I like tank tops and overshirts...

If I wear pants, they are usually black capri pants..a few sizes too big and splattered in paint...

I hate not having pockets...

I wear a lot of skirts, but they have to have shorts underneath...esp. if they don't have pockets...they must have cotton shorts with pockets underneath

I usually have to have something on my head....a scarf or my favorite black velvet cap..I like the brim..I can hide under it...The feeling of something on my head is important to me..and I love hats and go through long phases of favoring one hat till something happens to it.
I even went through a phase when they were a major obsession, and my room became completely overrun with vintage hats from the thrift stores when I was a teenager and then my mom interfered and my hat collection ended up getting ruined when she put them all in a big plastic garbage bag in the garage that ended up getting peed on by cats...the bag leaked...

Um...

shoes that I don't have to wear socks with...crocs and birkenstocks mostly...sometimes tevas or other nice sports sandals if I can find them for cheap

sweats lots of sweats, and boy clothes, even when i was younger

Being Normal Is Vastly Overrated

band t-shirts, jeans, and i suppose what you call boys clothes. I like sports jackets. Sometimes I wear a dress with stockings, but it feels weird.

I dress like The Kinks in a girl way, like I did from the ages 19 to 23, before I became psychotic and depressed. I enjoy wearing unisex clothing.

When I'm at home, I wear caftans, I love the way they hardly touch me anywhere. To go out, sweatpants & soft loose top, and a hat with brim. Also sunglasses even if it's raining.

For work I've got to wear office gear - trousers and belt, business shirt (short or long sleeve), shiny black shoes (although i often keep on the sneakers i wore in to work - much more comfy )

When i have a choice, it's loose fit jeans or chinos in darker colours, shorts in summertime - ones with legs to around my knees and with pockets for my keys and wallet etc., bright colored shirt or t-shirt (also loose fit), and a dark/muted color jumper that's preferably not a hoodie (I do wear one occasionally). I'm fine with stripes and designs etc, but try to avoid company and brand names or logos. shoes are either sneakers or hiking boots, switching to thongs and surf sandals in the heat of summer

Hats = no

as for tags, they're only a problem if they start to itch, whereupon i tear them off

i like dark colours, t-shirts with messages on them...i prefer baggy clothes,e but also like looking nice, so some days i dress girly and others sort of grungy . specifically, i love my:
sweat pants
basketball shorts
this one underwire bra that fits really well
vans (:D)
these really stretchy skinny pants, they make my butt look really good, and they feel nice

a black oversized hoodie that zips up front, and has deep pockets is the best thing EVER.

I'm aware this sounds amazingly Immature to others, but I have an opportunity to write how i truely feel.

I wear superhero, adult swim and star wars shirts except on weekends (b/c wife doesn't like them - tho she bought several for anniversarry gifts, etc - and I like to make her happy).

I gave up my extensive cartoon hat collection a decade ago and still regret it to this day. I'm not resentful for having to give them up (had some amazingly obscure characters, too), but I'd love to still have them.

If I felt that I was allowed to, I'd order several mor shirts from think geek. I've been jonesing for the greatest American hero shirt since I saw Sheldon wear it on the big bang theory last week (I feel vindicated when I see him wear a shirt I own or have wanted )
