What is the best film you ever saw?

For me, it is always changing, as I change. I saw Fight Club in a theatre when it first came out and when I left, I kind of had tunnel vision... I don't know what else to call it, but I was extremely affected by that movie. Another favorite of mine is Waking Life. There are so many good movies though. Do you have any recommendations?

It depends on what genres you like.

My opinion is constantly changing, but my current top three are:

1. Children of Men
2. Amelie
3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Amelie is good, but it's been forever since I've watched it.

Being John Malcovich
Sixth Sense
Leon the Professional
Pulp Fiction
Even Horizon

To single one out I would probably go with Being John Malcovich.

Blade Runner has left a tremendous impact on me since I saw it. I recommend seeing either the Director's or Final Cut if you ever get the chance to watch it.

I think when I'm asked I'd usually pick Blade Runner too.
But perhaps that's just me being a pseud.
I probably found Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back more entertaining.
But I love the imagery in Blade Runner.

Apart from that, I like macho flicks like Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns, and Taxi Driver.

And ... Dumb and Dumber cracked me up when I first saw it.

The New World, which I'm watching now, is one of my favorites.

Tombstone is one of the best movies I've seen recently. I just blew me away.

Tombstone is awesome. It wouldn't be atop my "best movies" list, but best of the genre for sure.

Little known "Dogville". I had to watch it a couple times. It is a philosophical drama about how we perceive ourselves vs. the actions we take.

Waking Life = awesome.
Into the Wild is a really good.
Almost Famous is quality, as is the Big Lebowski.
Donnie Darko of course.

The Pianist is a really good movie that passed me by when it came out.

My favorite of the past ten years though has to be There Will Be Blood...it's beautiful in every way AND Johnny Greenwood does the soundtrack. 10 out of 10.
