I've no idea.
That's why I'm not rich and probably will never be rich.

I don't want a huge house or fancy cars.

I have (almost) everything I need. I'd get just three things, and invest the rest:

Cervelo P4:

A small cozy beach house near a small airport.

And finally, A P51D Mustang with a 1450HP Packard Merlin engine. Hell yes! :)

Don't want anything else. It's my highest ambition in life.

I'd start a small not-for-profit business, focused around weird stuff I like - anime and manga and martial arts and science and lots of geeky themed thingymajigs. Without having to worry about making a profit I could probably make a serious contribution to all sorts of slightly alternative communities ^_^

a very high-end RV so I can drive state to state (no papers)

a big, beautiful house someplace in Downeast Maine

a wind farm

I'd also fund marijuana legalization ads to be aired during primetime.

I'd give a lot of it to charity and family members.

But for myself, I'd buy... DOLLFIES! They're such beautiful dolls. I would love to own at least one someday. But they are waaay too overpriced; the coolest looking one I saw was a whopping $500!

Lots of travel
Solar power for my house and RV.
A new North Trail RV
A new Pocket PC
A Tablet PC

I'd start 2 businesses:

A storage center business
An allergy needs franchise store

If I were rich I would...
donate to charity
buy myself a house and houses for my family.
buy a nice car for myself and nice cars for my family and hire someone to drive me to places ( I don't have a licence)
I would travel a whole lot.
I would buy lots of manga, anime, video games, and books.

I would start up a museum on the history of gaming with working consoles that people can play.

last year Australian Centre for the Moving Image had an exhibition called Game On which basically was the history of video games with consoles from the 60's to now. All the consoles worked and it was cool.
The exhibition was a temporary one.

I'd upgrade my car to a Lancer Evo, buy myself an understated yet still impressive house on a property, and stash my money in an interest bearing account or dividend paying investment portfolio. The aim is to live as if I'm not that rich, so as to not attract attention to myself. The tax office will know the truth though :?.

(I would just like to say up front that this whole post is a joke and no offense is intended to any literally minded aspies, nobody is going to get banned.)

I think I'd buy WP off Alex,
ban everyone that posted in this thread,
and then convert the whole place into a Simpsons tribute site :

Alex : banned
Asp-Z : banned
Chief__ :banned
Juan : banned
luvsterriers : banned
Dilbert : double banned because you broke the alphabetical order rule!
dddhgg : banned because Dilbert snuck in in front of you!
vandire : I wasn't going to ban you because you really aspire to a noble cause, and you were in alphabetical order,
but then you went and spelled 'Thingymajigs' wrong! :x
Banned! (sorry)
digger1 : Banned, you know why.
IdahoRose : Banned ( Dollfies! 8O For $500 bucks you could save an animal from extinction!)
LinnaeusCat : Banned for being a twitterer!
tweety_fan : Not Banned ; I couldn't ban a fellow Aussie!
blue_bean : Banned for not attempting tax evasion! (What sort of an Aussie do you think you are :?: )
syzygyish : Banned because everyone wants it.

Alex : Banned for waving the Big Ban Hammer over my head and then
crashing it dow...

What would I buy? Good question.
I don't know.

A lot of old money aristocrats in Europe wear worn tweeds and drive 10 year old cars because they don't need to impress anyone.

We are all rich compared with Nigerian or Chinese villagers. We all own things that they couldn't dream about.

What if I had so much money that the difference between buying a Happy Meal and eating at a five star restaurant meant nothing to me?
What if I could just as easily buy a $200,000 car as a $20,000 car?

But just because I can afford it do I need a 20 bedroom house with an indoor swimming pool and gold plated taps in the bathroom?

Part of me says "Well heck yes! Why not?" while another part says "Don't be a materialistic idiot"

A nice big house and a trip to Indiana to look at the A League of Their Own locations and a trip down to Kentucky to look at the boarding house the Peaches stayed in and a trip to Chicago to see the rest of the locations.
