My sort of people, just as real as theirs
Aspie Supremacy Can Kill

While reading them I remembered another thing that happens: In response to my appearance, some autistic people have said outright that they don't want to be associated with anyone who looks like that. And I have seen the same happen to others.

YOU are my freaking hero.

Absolutely.

It's a very divided group when it comes right down to it. On here it comes up from time to time, even in just replies to comments. "Oh, well, if you can do this or that then you shouldn't have a diagnosis"... whole threads dedicated to attempting to debunk people who suspect they may have it, threads about how high functioning someone is, people declaring their IQs all the time and others joining in to compare...

It's quite common.
