That's pretty much impossible to say.

Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands, Wonka . . . oh! Sweeney Todd too. And I'm sure the Mad Hatter role will be great as well.

Yay! A Johnny Depp thread! He's my favorite actor! :D

I adore him as Edward Scissorhands and Willy Wonka... And I have a feeling he'll make a terrific Mad Hatter!

The fact that I keep editing this post over and over shows how I can't really decide which role is his best. :P

I'd say Edward Scissorhands, but Jack Sparrow's not far behind.

I love the dude in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" when he has the fake arm hanging outside the car window and the real arm on the same side smoking a cigarette while brooding and driving down the street

Horrendous movie but awesome scene

Ed Wood
Sam
James Barrie
Victor Von Dort
Jack Sparrow (first movie only)
and I am hopeful for his role in Imaginarium but haven't seen it.

As to the Mad Hatter... I like Tim Burton, honestly, but he has facets and not all of these facets reflect good, clear light. Some of them are decidedly reflecting the contents of the dank, inner litterbox of the soul. Just a glimpse of the trailer for Alice in Wonderland is enough to have me thinking of litterboxes... the unforgettable scent with a mysterious scratching sound and just a smile floating in the air above them.

There is also something surreal which is apparently catching.

While I definitely enjoy some of the wacky characters he gets to play, one of my favorite roles he's had was Dean Corso in The Ninth Gate. The character itself was very interesting and wasn't just interesting due to wackiness.

I would have to say Sam in "Benny And Joon".
