Are there are any fans here of this soap opera? I'm usually the first person to criticise others who watch soap operas but Eastenders will always have a place in my heart. It portrays realistic, gripping, emotional storylines with sensitiivity and tackles important issues I think.

EastEnders is the dross of British soap. It's full of people shouting and arguing and, like Coronation Street it's on far too much per week. I prefer to watch something vaguely interesting instead but then I don't tend to watch a great deal of TV.

EastEnders used to be on PBS, my parents loved it. It sounds really good, but it's no longer on in the US, and not available on DVD.

My PBS station carries it. We've got a huge legion of fans who'll never forgive us if we drop it. Decent way to spend a half hour at work, I think.

I watch it every now and then when I can be bothered as you can usually pick up on story lines and anything you've missed very quickly. I used to watch it all the time now it just doesnt excite me that much anymore.

www.uknova.com - If you can sign up, every episode is available for d/l. Loads of ex-pats use uknova to keep up with their favourite shows.

Quality of EE varies a lot, but has occasional moments of brilliance. the child-abuse/domestic violence/rape/racism/drug addiction and other hard-hitting storylines were all executed brilliantly and in a very sensitive and responsible way. Sometimes its quite funny in a character based sitcom kind of way, other times there are lenghty periods of lifeless dross.

UKNova is an excellent BitTorrent site for those that have access to it. Unfortunately it's not accepting new sign-ups so newcomers will need to look elsewhere for their fix, sadly.

I suck, I don't get to see those cool shows. :( Eastenders looked interesting, when I was able to see it. I saw one movie, or show, called "The Sand" or something to that effect a while back. That seemed nice.

Over the summer we usually stay with family friends. They watch TV in the evenings and because I don't have a TV I watch it with them out of curiosity. The husband follows Eastenders and I must say I get a kick out of it.

No offence, but Eastenders is AWFUL! And its on like, 4 times a week. And what makes it worse is my sisters obsessed with it and wont let us watch anything else while its on >.<##########

was looking for an Eastenders thread and found it, sorry if age of thread threatens to synchronise or further invalidate peoples soap operatic minds on here. I was looking for a thread and I found one, so yeah big deal is seven years old, who am I kidding ?
Just for arguments sake, who thinks Fatboy will have a wedding to poppy and who thinks Sharron needs to get off those pills? and why is Peter back after two years sun tanning ?
I'll avoid these questions for a simpler and much better soap channel next time. 8O 8)
