can i request a nickname change?

The title says it all and the reason because my nickname sounds as if im this person sinsboldly and already my nickname seems to be a massive conflict.

is there a way of doing it?

You would have to go to Alex for that. He is the forum owner of this site. Names don't usually get changed but they do rarely. I know at least two people here who got their names changed and they had tons of posts already.

This is possible, but you have to contact Alex to change your nickname. Since you have a good reason to change your nickname, hopefully Alex will be able to sort it out for you, **Please note** - The response MAY not be instantly so be patient.

No I have never harassed her.

Given the explanation, it does not meet the criteria for a name change. Members are welcome to petition Alex on the matter; as a general rule, however, name changes are not permitted except under either extreme or specific circumstances... neither of which appear to be at issue here.

on other forums ive been in, ive been able to change it, but why is it an issue to change your nickname on WP?
im just sick of being called a troll and being accused of sockpuppets?

Name changes are not allowed as part of site policy; neither are duplicate accounts, which some people have unsuccessfully tried as an alternative. That you have been able to change it elsewhere has no bearing on whether it is accepted here. I'm not sure where you've been accused of being a sockpuppet; if you'd care to PM me a link to the thread here on WP, I would be glad to take a look at the situation.

Changing names here can confuse members.
Also you can have another account if Alex approves of it.

It should be made clear that that approval must be prior and express; saying "I'm sure he'll be cool with it" has not and will not be accepted as approval for a replacement account.

If someone was using a name and their account got deleted and then they registered a new account, would it be approved to change the name of the new account to the name of the old account?

For example, if League_Girl requested that her current username be changed to "Spokane_Girl", would that change be approved?

I doubt it, my neighbour already tried and by the looks of things, she is still sinsyokka.

Its pretty unlikely that would happen unless the nickname was inappropriate because I have however seen members change their names in the end.
