I'm thinking of starting a club at my university for people on the spectrum. Anybody think that this sounds like a good idea?

Hell yes. I wish there'd been one at my university. (Actually wasn't diagnosed then, but if I had been...)

I'd do it, but I'm at a small college presently. I know there is at least one other aspy here... but starting a club is alot of work; people have to know about it. Even the people with AS. So yeah, I can't really see myself hanging banners and and shouting stuff on the sidewalk.

I did the same at my university. It went okay, but I'm not a natural leader type. Someone else has taken it over.

Overall, there's a healthy demand for this.

Thanks for the feedback! I don't know any other people at my university on the spectrum, but I'm sure there's a lot (we have almost 40,000 total undergrad and grad students). All I need to start a club is two other people and a faculty advisor. Now I just have to find other people...

I wish they did this at our Uni. :3
sometimes I'm glad they haven't and then I wouldn't have to stress about meeting a new bunch of people...I can make myself ill over it.

But meh.

You can probably find the other spectrum people through your university's office of disability services. If you coordinate with them, they'll probably give flyers for your club to all the folks with AS who register with their office.

Thanks! I'll try that. I probably won't do it untill next semester, though. There are only two weeks of class and finals week left this semester 8) .
