The first of a two part series will be shown on BBC Three on May 13 at 9pm.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00sf359 .

The presenter

Quote:
seeks out a cast of talented young people with autism to perform at a major music event he is planning to host in London.

As we meet each new member of the line up, we take a journey into the autistic mind, learning what it is like to live with complex condition.

It should be interesting. However there is no such thing as "the autistic mind", but individual autistics with their own mind.

I'm definatly going to watch this!
I kind of like 'Autistic season' they're having on BBC Three.

Autistic Driving School was really good.. Although the autistic driving instructor did seem a bit intimidating.

My favourite was the one about Jimmy, Autism, Disco and Me. It inspired me to follow my dreams.

That's been my least favourite of the documentaries so far..
Autistic Driving School was good I though, it made me laugh a few times. :)

I finally watched it on iPlayer.
I thought it was okay.. I want to see the performances though.
I think like the other one they spend most of the time with the more low functioning people and barely 5 minutes with the two higher functioning ones.

Yeah my thoughts exactly.:)
It just got to the performance bit and then stopped. That girl could really sing though.

There's a second episode.

I saw the commercial about this show last night before Family Guy, really interested in it, and also Autistic Driving School. I didn't know they did more shows like that!

I enjoyed the documentary, but they gave too little time to the brilliant blues guitarist and the drummer. I suppose that is because Carly and Martin who are 'lower functioning' make more interesting television.

I really enjoyed this two part programme.

I have to give credit to the presenter Reggie Yates, who did a great job.

I thought that he showed compassion and genuinely cared about the people when he went into their homes.

He also showed sensitivity, which was nice to see.

It would be good to have a follow up programme, perhaps in a year to see how they have all progressed.

I have to say a Well Done! to all those involved in the show.

Watched it. Loved it. Inspiring. I'm proud of all of them for facing the challenge of the stage!
