i wonder if Donovan was thinking of this when he wrote "mellow yellow"?

I don't recommend eating electric bananas. At least unplug them first.

according to donovan, an "electrical banana" is a vibrator, used by a 14 year old named saffron. but there are many interpretations, including one suggesting that saffron was taking "mellow yellow" barbiturate pills [or maybe Owlsley's LSD] AKA "electrical bananas" because they caused an electric-like tingling in one's extremities. click on the link below for all the dope-
mellow yellow and electrical bananas and all the rest

Don't suppose you could use food coloring for non-yellow food, but that would be cheating wouldn't it? I wonder how such a theme would go with only pink food. Really, how much food is pink that isn't candy?
