(First of all, they use, what, the Montenegrin domain? That's like last.fm using the Micronesian domain. Outrage!)
Why do I say so, you ask?
Speaking of asking, in case you do not know what "Formspring" is, it's a site where people can ask each other questions, and inquirers can be anonymous. However, it seems that it is not used for what it is intended for. As most profiles are open to the anonymous, which is configurable, they can harass them, generally and sexually, and ask questions which may be considered private, but are answered anyway. All profiles are public; so all questions answered by the user can be seen.
Here's a scenario: Not too long ago, a girl thought I was harassing her on the site by continually asking her to prom, which was done by an anonymous user. Everyone saw her page. At the time, I did not have a profile myself, which I now do. I almost got in trouble; it took me great trouble to convince the dean that I was innocent. I felt so much like David Gale.
Most of the persons I follow have, on their pages, but not limited to:
--"can I f**k you?," "can I b**st on your face?," or similar inquiries of a sexual nature
--name-calling (slut, b**ch, ugly, etc.)
--call-outs (as in fighting)
--arguments over one's boyfriend (users are predominantly female)
--personal questions usually considered private but answered anyway
According to the Wikipedia article for "formspring.me," which I ask future viewers to post the link to, it has led to suicides and fights across the nation. Look at sample profiles and see how users of the site are made fun of.
As an aspie, I get made fun of all the time, which is why I set my profile to block all anonymous questions, the highest level of blockage. I have urged others to do the same, including the girl that believed I harassed her, but they will not. My FB statuses and photos promote it, but few agree with them.
If you agree with me, if I do not find an anti-formspring group on FB, I will make one, and if you agree with me, join whichever one comes first.
