Any soundtrack by Joe Hisaishi particularly Hana-Bi. It's filled with uncluttered arrangements that spill over with un-ironic sentimentality. A guilty pleasure.

Fred Neil - influenced so many people in the sixties in Grenichvillage. He was a bit of a recluse so I don't think there are any videos and he never toured and only recorded a couple handfuls of songs. Even so, he left a permanent mark in music history..
