It all goes to show that Linux is better than Windows. When people need greater speed, higher performance, and more power they use Linux. Windows is used for when people are too stupid to handle anything else.

I have embedded Linux in several objects that don't have proud "Linux Inside" badges, but should. A lot of media players, radios, NAS servers, LCD televisions and the like have Linux Inside.

Windows 3.1 was officially retired in March this year, so many travel industry entertainment systems (the things that show the GPS in aircraft, or films and music in seat-backs) and kiosk displays will probably switch to Linux.

You are obviously not a gamer - or you own a PS3 and have Ubuntu installed just so you can try to impress people on forums by generalising about operating systems.

No, he is saying that you should use the right tool for what you are doing, each OS has advantages and disadvantages that you need to keep in mind when making a choice. Some do work better than others for certain tasks but there are none that are best at everything.

No, its a claim to experience, a thing that some people are seriously lacking in and are blurting out generic statements based upon personal preferences that are not based upon how practical a thing is for certain purposes.

For some things i use Linux exclusively, for gaming, i use windows since there is no other choice and i do not want to pay for something (i.e. Cedega or whatsitsname) that may or may NOT run the game that i have purchased. That is just not good enough!

When a Linux Gaming OS (that is at least 95% compatible with the stuff out there) is released, that is the day when Microsoft can close up shop and go home, before that - dream on.

Open source does not mean s**t for 99% of the home users since none of them go through all the sourcecode and compile it themselves: most end users want something he or she can USE.

I hope this dosen't spread to desktop computing, my experiences with Ubuntu recently have shown it to be worse than Windows :roll:
