I think, because of me, one NT has just been "converted" to seeing us as people, as equally valid.

It's small, but it's a success. Next time, let's try for ten. Twenty. A hundred.

Six billion.

Come on. We can do it. We are doing it.

But one at a time is slow. I want to work faster. Anyone have any ideas? How can I reach a lot of people at once?

Did you put your hand on his shoulder and say "welcome, brother?"

TV and movies.

Scriptwriters influence the public's perception about all kinds of things. Whoever wrote the script for Rainman basically told an entire generation "this is what autism looks like" and an entire generation assumes that is true. Currently, whoever wrote the script for Adam and whoever is writing the scripts for Big Bang Theory are influencing how people perceive Aspergers Syndrome.

The people who write the scripts for TV and movies are the people who decide how the public will perceive things.

If you want to be part of that influence, become a scriptwriter.

Have Bones, Sheldon the new guy to law and order all be open and have Aspergers.

Maybe even have our own real world show................

That is kinda funny "we are real people now put us in a cage and watch us like animals"

Now I'm picturing a neurodiversity sitcom where an NT, a person with AS, a person with LFA, a person with ADHD, a person with bipolar, a person with dyslexia, etc. etc., all had to live together for some reason. :D Ideally, they'd all have interesting personalities and quirks, and while there'd be clashes due to personality and just dealing with each other's issues, the writers wouldn't be milking the situation gratuitously for drama. Yeah right, like that'd ever happen

That's a good idea. :D As it happens, I aspire to write prose.

Mosaic, that's a brilliant idea. I hope there's someone here who can actually do that.

Funniest part about that show would be the fact that the NT would go crazy first, unless you didnt give the Aspie his/her own room.

These are good ideas. I guess websites like Youtube are a good way to influence people now. :)
