Sorry if this sounds stupid, but the forums I am most used to have an advanced search function that allows me to do this...

I am trying to find an old thread of mine, but I seem to have lost it, and the search function is not returning precise enough results for me to locate it. Is there any way to search by thread creator, or any other way to find what you're looking for, if you can't remember the exact phrasing? (And in truth I actually AM remembering phrases from the thread, but the search doesn't return the thread I want.)

Does anyone know how to get the search function to be more precise, or to go by thread originator?

Just click on your username, then you'll see a "find all posts" link. Click on that. :)
