I was brought up a Catholic but I so much of the dogma in my view did not make sense. Especially the rituals with did absolutely nothing for me and yielded no results for me. The concept of heaven and hell seem more comparable in the days when people believed the earth was flat rather like the floors of two story building with a basement, where one could easily imagine the great upper up there in the sky with angels dancing on it and hell being the great infernal basement beneath us for the dammed souls.
I am now not religious at all, but I am extremely philosophic as you see in the link I provided.
