What kind of pet do you prefer? Do you prefer a cat, a dog, or something else? Or perhaps no pets at all?

I personally prefer cats. Cats are lovable, adorable, and very low maintenance. They also have an independent spirit, which I love from anyone.

Cats--if you get a very social one, you can give and get lots of TLC...but cats have JUST the right energy level, and will never be as demanding as a dog, which I'd never have the energy for. I mean, sometimes I just want nothing but to share a nap with a cat. A dog wouldn't do that.

Cats (only certain dogs appeal to me, they have to be pretty special), Chinese water dragons, and if I could get a bird eventually I'd like to get a sun conure. One day, perhaps. Monkeys are awesome, but I'm pretty sure they'd make terrible pets.

I've always been a cat lover, and I always will be. And thanks to the Crispin Glover film Willard, I want to own a pet rat as well, but my mother can't stand rodents so the answer will always be a firm "no".

I like cats as far as domesticated animals go. I used to have one, white tabby cat named Abby, but she passed away at only 1 year old from heart problems.

I may get another cat someday. I like that they are so self sufficient, but still loving. Dogs are too needy and require too much maintenance for my tastes.

As far as non-domesticated pets, I'd love to have a Snow Leopard, but only if I was sure it wouldn't try to eat me once it grew up. :D

Cats mostly. I consider my cats my closest friends. We have 4 cats and would like to get another one. I'd like to find a dog that my cats would get along with too, but they are rescues and I don't know if they could handle it.

I used to be a cats person, but in later years I have become a dog owner. I like being able to go for walks with the dog.

Cats are easier to take care of. I only have to tend to their needs every sew days. If I forget, they remind me by bugging me until I fix their problem. My cats can be demanding. It is past my bedtime and my cats are trying to get me to go to bed, I have two and they are taking turns jumping up and running across the keyboard.. I am going to have to chase them to get them to stop. If I chase them, they will run in the bedroom and sit on my bed, looking at me like I am the crazy one.
My dog on the other hand has to be let in and out several times a day, He is nowhere near as smart as my cats.

I have 3 rats. I love them.

I'd like to have horses again, and a dog (Labrador).

Also I'd like a few giraffes.

Tell me more about your rats. I love rats! Is that one of yours in your avatar?
