Is for anyone else, the worst thing about school was the fire drills? For me it was. I absolutely hated it when that loud fire alarm would sound. Ouch!

Well, where I go to school, there is exactly one fire drill every year.

It goes awfully. That is, half of the classes can't hear the alarm (it's not a special alarm, it's rigged to the speaker system. Some classes have the speaker system inside, others have to rely on those in halfway) and one of the remaining quarters has teachers that decide what's being done is more important than the fire drill.

It's mostly just very amusing. There's a general consensus that a louder alarm would be a good idea, which I suppose would be bad for drills if it ever got implemented, but good for safety.

It seems that every time I need to pick up a dropped pencil, the alarm goes off. I end up walking out of the room with a bump on my noggin.

Yes, for sure. But in my case it's a bit different because it my work place.

I got in to terrible trouble last year after destroying my computer than tearing a door from its hinge after one incident. I wear two set of eat plugs/muffs just to cope!

I hated those fire drills. The ringing of those bells were horrible.

NTs would rather have a fire drill than a test, I'd have rather had a test than a fire drill when I was in school, how about you?

I think fire drills are pretty useful in fact. But one thing that angered me a lot was when I was in first grade of high-school,for the fire drill, one teacher took me to a class with other kids I didn't knew,I asked why,and she was pretty evasive, just saying ''you won't be stressed'' or ''you're a big boy,you know what to do in case of fire,so why should you pass the fire drills?''.I knew they were doing this just because I had Asperger, and it angered me a LOT.If it wasn't for the fact that the teacher is very nice and I like her a lot,I'd probably would have got mad at her and screamed and get angry...

I liked how they got me out of lessons.

The worst thing about school for me was PE.

My school got a new alarm system a few years ago, and it is the worst sound I have ever heard. It is this shrill, high pictched chirping noise with flashing strobe lights. I can't stand that thing!

Ugh, I hated fire drills. It wasn't just the annoying alarm, it was the fact that crowds of students had to stand outside for such a long time. I hated standing out there with all those people.

We have 3 of them per semester. We have 1300+ students. I get overwhelmed very easily. Therefore fire drills and I do not get along

For me the worst part of the fire drills was standing outside for like 30 mins with no one to really talk to >.< lol

I always thought everyone hated loud alarms. Isn't that the case?

Regardless, I agree with the previous poster, the worst part was standing around with no one to talk to.

They used to tell me in advance about a fire drill so I always left early.
