Hi. I've been talking to some people about starting a local AS meet-up group and am just trying to gauge interest.

We'd likely meet in the Lancaster, PA area or thereabouts on either the first or third Saturday of the month. Let me know if you might like to join us. Thanks!

southern end of the poconos here. No means of transportation currently however, else id say I would be there.

Sorry to hear transportation will be a problem for so many, although I had the feeling that could be the case. The place I'd planned to reserve for meetings is right on a bus route and along Rt. 30, which would be convenient for people who live closer by, but I understand that doesn't really help you guys out.

If others express an interest and I do end up organizing something, I'll post about it again closer to that time, in hopes peoples' situations change between now and then.

blueroses, that is so awesome you are trying to start a group! I am in PA and near northern MD, but not so close to Lancaster. I would consider a drive up once in a great while, but not on a regular basis. I know about a few active social groups around Philly and could give you suggestions, experiences, and get you connected if you need information and ideas!

Thanks guys for welcoming me, but I've actually been posting here since 2007. I appreciate that you guys are so friendly, though!

chessimprov, I do belong to GRASP Philadelphia and know of a few other groups in Philly, too. But, it's pretty far to drive and there isn't very much in south central PA. I'd welcome your input and hearing about your experiences, though. If you know of anyone in your groups that might be closer and want to participate, please let me know--thanks!
