Well met! I'll go by Dragonflai on this forum. My doctor told me just a few years ago that she thought I had Asperger's. She asked if I wanted classes on appropriate eye contact, but I turned them down. I'm 25 years old. I also have major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.

I love to read, especially science fiction. I like to play Legend of Zelda. I have a pet rat named Snickers.

It's great to meet all of you!

Other than your doctor, do you have anyone else supporting the theory you have Asperger's? Or is this an issue with you (are you happily self-diagnosed?)

How does someone get taught proper eye contact, I wonder.

I taught myself. I know how to do it when it is important (Handshakes and interviews). Other then that I don't find it necessary.

I don't really care about labels, but I have found in the past that a lot of the things that help Aspies who want to act more NT help me, too - such as a computer program I found once that teaches recognition of facial expression.

I don't know how you get taught proper eye contact. Probably through positive reinforcement when you're doing it right, and feedback about how to do it better. But I never tried it...I thought I was doing alright...

I agree with hypocritex; most ppl don't care if you're doing it right, unless you're just meeting them.
