Haven't played it yet because I can't afford it...and I'd feel bad about pirating it...but I might have to if my friends decide they want to try the multiplayer :?

I've seen the commerials, but I'm unsure if I'm interested in it. Is there any other DS versions that are cheaper and I could try first? If not, do you have to play the others to understand what's going on in the game?

DQ is like Final Fantasy in which each game it is own story plot. If you have a used video game store I would suggest trying out DQ 4 and 5 on the DS,
and if you have a PS2 you can play 7 (which is actually a PSX game) or 8.

Picked it up at launch, and have been playing 3-4 times a week in multiplayer with my friend. I play solo, and then we coop in his world. I love how your guy changes with the equipment he wears.

How is the coop?

I was going to see about playing it with my friends, but they said they heard it was lame.

OMG DQIX is amazing. Took me about 50-60 hours just to beat the main game and now I'm on post-game. What sucks though is my internet doesn't have the proper security type for the Wi-fi stuff and I don't know anyone else nearby that has this so I can't go looking for guests
