Flies verses butterfiles
I think I came up with a reason why people dislike aspies. Well first of all you should ask yourself whether it is easier for you to kill a fly or to kill a butterfly. I bet fly is easier. Now where do you know for a fact that butterfly has more feelings or is more worthy of life than fly is? Then only thing you know is that it is colored more beautifullly. But what does color has to do with feelings? Nothing -- sunset is also beautiful but it doesn't feel a thing. Yet, it is your PREJUDICE that whatever is beautiful feels more.
Same applies to grass verses flowers. How come it is okay for you to step on a grass but not on a flower? The examples are countless.
You can even ask how you know trees don't feel just from the fact that they don't move.
Now here is a point: if NT-s are more beautiful than aspies then NT-s are treated as butterflies and aspies as flies, and no second thought is given, any more than you give a second thought in your fly verses butterfly dillema.
It is based on cuteness, and it is obviously right! We here in America have known for decades that all the world's problems can be solved simply by making everything cute! That's why we have such great organizations as the American Society for the Protection of Cute Animals, which helps cute animals find good, cute American homes, and the Federal Cuteness Commission, which helps keep ugly thoughts from entering the minds of our beautiful citizenry. Actually, were it not for a few ugly-wing nutjobs, all our organizations would probably already be united for the common goal of spreading cuteness throughout the world... possibly organized under the benevolent supervision of the Cuteness Intelligence Agency. But it's surely only a matter of time now; soon, all the ugly people who oppose us will be thrown into Cuteization Camps, and the world will become a beautiful place forever! You'll see... it's coming sooner than you think!

Heh, I'd forgotten I'd written that.
Did you know that they've been showing pictures of presidential candidates to early grade school children for the last forty or fifty years, and asking them to pick who they think the next president will be? They guess right every time. Based on little more than the argument that "he has a nice face." Or sometimes, whichever candidate scares them the least.
Same dif.

Instead of looking at this as "fly vs butterfly", I think that this writer who is autistic sums it up better. I know that this particular article seems to be written for parents of autistics, but it explains his impression of the difference which would be more like "cat vs dog", if you want to look at it in terms of "versus". Hope the link works:

Here
Let me get all hung up on the details.
Butteflies do not crawl on my face or my food causing a disease risk, not to metion annoying tickles. Hence flies (and mosquitos) must die. Cabbage moths - which look a lot like butterflies are not popular with me because they make holes in my vegies. Bad.
However spiders (mostly) get to live.
One does not step on clover flowers or other flowers in the grass because they often contain bees. And bees sting - and then your foot and leg will itch for a week or longer. Which really sucks.
However I have more examples. Why do people get all excited about leafy sea dragons, but wish all sharks dead? Sharks are quite useful and I think if they were extinct, human kind would suffer fairly directly - what else is going to clean up whales when they die of natural causes and float around on the surface? Sharks also help keep fish schools like tuna healthy by culling the weak ones. Leafy sea dragons - just look pretty. There are other fish that would cover their niche if they disappeared. I do love leafy sea dragons though - they're gorgeous.
Why do people prefer to vote for the guy that promises tax cuts and low interest rates instead of the guy that offers more free health care and better education?
I think the main reason I am/was unpopular with NTs was I frequently presented them with a very unvarnished truth or truths about many subjects they'd prefer not to know about. I also want everything explained - which further forces NTs to look at problems they'd really rather not. Like how much more dangerous our cars are than Osama Bin Laden for example. Imagine if we had a war on bad roads and unsafe cars? It would probably be cheaper and save more lives. I think another reason aspies are unpopular with NTs is that doing what it takes to "fit in" never seems as important to an aspie as it does to an NT.
