Thanks to everybodys advice :0)
I am pretty convinced now that my adhd diagnosis was wrong, that i actually have AS. So i shall be making my way to the doctors to get some damn understanding.
I dont want to come across a hypercondriac, and i dont want to come across as one of those teens who think adhd and autism is cool who despretley want a diagnosis.?!?
Im just not sure how to approach the subject that i think they were wrong and that i would like to talk to someone who knows a little more.
And how i can talk about myself as an adult AS.
I dont have my family around anymore as i left home and moved in with my partner, so i have changed doctors too.
I was diagnosed with adhd when i was 15, ptsd at 19, and i am now 23.
Would apprechaite any doctor advice!

Well, you might well have both as it does happen. I'm not sure about the exact meathod you should use, but I would think merely pointing out the disorder and mentioning some traits you exhibit which seem to be part of AS would be a good start. I'm sorry I'm not more help, but none of my previous diagnosis (OCD, Generalized Anxiety, Clinical Depression) got in the way of the AS diagnosis process (which I will be within until Monday). Just remember, that people do have multiple diagnosis so the fact that you believe you might have something besides ADHD isn't completely off the wall!

Can I assume this is a psychiatrist rather than a standard primary care doctor?

my 'normal' doctor referrefed me on to a psychiatrist when i was 15 who diagnosed me straight away hardly letting me talk! that was 8 years ago now. i saw a nhumber of shrinks but havent seen any for a few years now.
Im pretty sure i havent got OCD and my last 'normal' doctor was sure i didnt have bi-polar, but i was suffering real bad panic attacks and have been put on mirtazapine.

Well you're not likley to get a good diagnosis form anyone but a specialist, so you might want to search about and find one rather than bring it up with your standard doctor OR ask your doctor for a recommendation and referral if you trust they'll do that.

I'm so sorry you got a diagnosis without having much say in it. That's very unfair.

thanks for the advice!
as a child i was abused, so my shrinks like to focus on that all the time. whenever i need to talk about the adhd it gets by-passed, like it doesnt matter. so thats why im pretty nervous about bringing it up with a doctor, incase they think its just the abuse thats made me this way, you know? :(

You might consider going to a large, local university where you may/may not be required to register for one university class. You may then qualify to be worked up/evaluated at the university for an Asperger/Autism evaluation at an affordable rate. In the real world, once a person reaches 21, the process of getting a diagnosis can become more challenging since a number of very large HMOs in the USA intentionally do not diagnose adults with ADHD, Autism, or Asperger's. So if one goes to a HMO as an adult, the HMO will simply play games and not make a diagnosis for an adult so the HMO can maintain its high profit margins. A PPO/whatever which allows a health care member to go to almost any doctor may, depending on the coverage, allow a person to secure an objective diagnosis of what they have vs play games and say they don't diagnose ADHD, Autism, or Asperger's in any adult health care members. You can expect a partial answer/partial insights from such a workup but the odds of getting a great answer/great insights may be small. You may end up securing a correct diagnosis and that's it/that's about it. Am unaware of a good transitional program from a correct diagnosis of Asperger's to an easy transition to normal, everyday life/work/career/family whatever. Good luck.
