Do you like the thought of being in a minority (with AS)?

I know some aspies like the thought of being in a maligned minority and make a big fuss of it. Because, white western men are the capitalists who control the rest of the money of the world, and keep the rest down. Other races, and women, and other groups are all persecuted by or unequal to the "stupid white men" as M. Moore calls them who control the world. I can see how this can make people feel better about themselves, ie I am a white male so I am in the group that will never be pushed down by the establishment. However, I have tics, weird expressions, a weird voice and strange behavior, so I will most likely never be able to be in a position to be a wealthy capitalist making lots of money in a company that down-treads poorer people. If i do work for an unethical company i will likely stay one of the crappest workers. Like for instance Gap has the labor workers in indonesia who are treated crap, and the overworked/underpaid drone workers in its Western shops who are treated less crap, and the bosses who have good lives. I can see how it could make me feel better about myself to be in a "downtrodden minority" with my strange behaviours that would hold sucess back, so that I wouldnt feel so guilty about being a white western male in such an unequal world.

ps I know people say that figures like Bill Gates and Spielberg are aspies so that we can suceed in the wealthy world, but I am much more strange and crap than them, and besides i do not want to.

Take a good look at Steven Hawking. I'm sure that he's more "strange" than you. But he's still rather famous and successful, because he uses his brain.

How about we just be content with who we are instead of either trying to fit in or stand out?

But he was also lucky enough to be born into a wealthy family which gave him a good education. And his disability developed through his life. Anyway, most aspies don't have the brain of Hawking. Other people from "opressed minorites" can be succesful too without raising the chances of their people as a whole, like the australian aborigenie sport stars they put in the olympics to prove how inclusive they are.

I am content to be what I am. There are so good aspects to being an Asbergarian but there are also some difficulties. In any case we all play with the hand that we are dealt by nature and fortune.

I kind of think the attitude that all white straight wealthy mentally-fit American redneck Christain men are evil villains that need to be destroyed is kind of stupid. That in itself is ignorant descrimination too. White people have often become the scapegoats for all the problems in the world due to their evil past speaking louder then the other races, but people forget that they're people too and not the only ones capable of things like racism and genocide.

Anyways as far as being in the minority. I have Aspergers, I'm gay and a virgin, I'm a mix of several different races, and I'm a non-Christain. I'm a member of several diffrent minority groups and never saw it as a big deal unless people judged me for them as being a bad thing. But the way I see it I'm just me. I'm perfect in my own unique way and I don't need to listen to other people trying to put me down and change me.

Most white men don't believe they have any particular advantage in life. Stereotyping them as evil rich capitalist good ole boys that want to keep everyone else down is pretty offensive. I think a lot of tension is created over things like affirmative action. I went to same schools, I lived in the same neighborhoods, I didn't come from a privileged background, why should someone with a different skin color get an advantage over me for a job or getting into a good school? A lot of the problems in the black community have absolutely nothing to do with racism and came to be after the civil rights era. Not that there isn't institutional racism but you don't fix it with more institutional racism, it's doesn't balance itself out, it's just more racism.

Didnt you read the michael moore book. White males are the worst people on earth and responsible for most suffering. I think they may be ok if they have a mental disorder like AS though.

Mutate, you have some serious problems with racism if you really think white men are evil.

Says the Commandant as he has all the white men, women, and children his men can capture executed by public firing squad.

I fear my own people with our eerie milky skin and devilish eyes. it is self hating. I am told by far-right crazies that arabs and black people with out-breed white people out of existence and we will not be around anymore. I pray that day comes soon. (of course it is ridicolous and will never happen as we have better medical conditions and dont starve)

Who is in a minority? There are millions of us.. we just like to spread out a bit...

the autistic "minority" is at least triple the size of the jewish minority... but fundings, budgets, land and rights don't always match the size of the minority... on the other hand we don't have as many deadly enemies who are willing to use billions to get rid of us as they do... nor do we have as many guardians who are willing to use billions to protect us...

oh well.
