Gift ideas for mother's day

As you American Aspies know, Mother's Day is just around the proverbial corner.

With her mom having passed away recently, it has to be devastating for my Mom to bear this cross this close to the holiday. So, I was wondering what else to get, other than a greeting card. Two conditions must be met, however:

It must be a reasonably-priced gift (i.e., I don't want to break the bank)
It should tell my Mom how much I love her and appreciate all she's done for me, even in the face of this recent family tragedy.

Well, I'm in the UK but the sentiment and basic idea of it is pretty much the same. So, for Mothering Sunday I ordered her a really lovely bouquet that came on Mother's Day. It cost me a few quid but the smile on her face for the next few days afterwards was well worth it. Think I heard the words "...the best Mother's Day present you've ever bought me" a few times too. Which goes to show how much consideration (or time, or money) I usually put into Mother's Day.

I agree. can't go wrong with flowers.

i dont know how you feel about this organization, but "autism speaks" is partnering with a flower company, so you can get her some flowers from them and donate $10 to autism research.

I think my idea last year worked out good which was basically the local minor league team had a special thing going on for mothers day (basically a brunch before the game and cheaper tickets) and because me and my mom always went to the team when I was younger it seemed like a good idea and I think it worked out great, though admittedly this wont work everywhere.
