well, i just love japan. i mean...they're my favorite humans. i love the fact that they kept me safe in vietnam. while in basic training i was shown a film captured after ww2. it was japanese torture techniques. just little things, like sticking a high pressure hose up a guy's butt and watching as they swelled and literally came apart. and, and, how they would have prisoners tied down tightly and would skin them while they thrashed about. oh the creativity. no way i would let myself be captured after seeing that.

i love how they treat animals. along with norway, japan kills whales for fun and profit. they even carve before they're dead. such lovely people. and let's not forget dolphins. the only country that allows wholesale dolphin slaughter. what other group of humans could pull that off. dolphin appetizers....yum, yum.

such lovely humans.

what don't i like about about the japanese? i don't like the fact that they gave up so easily after only two little bomb attacks! surely they could've held out for 20 or 30 little explosions. in fact, ww2 could've lasted for 10 or 15 years longer.

Anime, manga, street fashion, their acceptance of robots, Nintendo, Square Enix, Capcom, the fact that Rockman EXE was made there, all the cool inventions, the movies, the fact that they still use 2-D animation, and J-pop, especially Kanon Wakeshima! (My nickname on here is based off of her song, Marmalade Sky, which is about a girl's unrequieted crush on her friend.)

I love the way Japanese folk work hard and concentrate their minds on what they are going.

Everything they do is first rate: From bombing Pearl Harbor to making the best cars in the world.

-Anime.

-the Manga Akira.

-Kyokushin Karate (which is actually Okinawan).

-their Martial Arts.

-lower age of consent (labeling anyone a sex offender for sleeping with a sixteen year old is BS)

-J-pop.

-Women (particularly mixed background Nisei porn stars, though most are actually American.)

-The fact some of their leaders had the sense to give up when the bombs were dropped.

-Their belief that its not cruel to eat live fish.

-Airsoft.

-Metal Gear Solid

- traditional clothes and jaki-tabi

- their history

- tiny affordable bachelor apartments

- public baths (our water heater is broken  )

- grenade mortars, tankettes, the 6.5mm Arisaka round

- Motosada Mori's handgun and knife CQB techniques.

What I don't like: this thread's not about that but there's a lot I could say.

Japanese porn may be weird (to me anyway) but hentai is weirder, though I admit the only hentai I've stumbled upon is has to do with rape. I wonder if there's normal stuff. Then again, why watch hentai if there's live action footage of the stuff you like.

I like the geisha, in the 1600s, they were like modern day celebrities. A geisha can never get married or even fall in love, they have to remain living in the teahouse they were sold into. Back in those days geisha were not born into a geisha, the 'mother' or headgeisha of the teahouse would buy young virgin girls, most from poor villiages. From age 5 to 15 the girls are trained in song and dance, and the tea ceremony, which is a very beautiful, complicated, very precise practice, one mistake can ruin her.

- They got some awesome writers: Kobo Abe, Yukio Mishima, Junji Ito, Suehiro Maruo.

- Sushi.

- Tokyos absolutely amazingly wide selection of brothels.

- Unit 731.

- Their porn. Sucks about the censoring, though.

For me, I love Japanese hibachi style cooking. We just got a new Japanese restaurant near me, and I have already eaten there twice.

I like Japan because they gave birth to a lot of well known and respected companies, they have wacky game/prank shows and TV commercials, and that's all I can think of.

I don't like Japan for being the target of worship from anime-obsessed failures.

I'm going to make a thread called "What do you like the most about America" now.
