Absurd Minds "Deception". Please, tell some ideas
how would you tell what is this text about? Please, read intently
you think that I`m heartless.
they believe that I have a heart of stone,
cause it doesn`t make any difference to me,
- if it`s a grain of sand or if it`s a human being.
I`m not heartless.
you`ve got to know I ain`t got a heart of stone,
cause I distinguish between truth and illusion.
I tell them apart.
I remember you. you create the world.
everything you see is a deception.
I remember you. you create the world.
I`ll find my way home.
when you think you know it all,
you know nothing.
when you think you know all
about your life,
you know nothing ; you start to die.
my brain has gotta put together
pictures of thought and sight.
those constitute the mind.
in my mind one resembles the other.
there is no chance to grade.

This first stanza tells me that the value of humans is over rated. Most people are ordinary and they don't really matter in the grander scheme of things. Human life is not priceless. But people can't deal with that emotionally so they think it to be inhumane to say so. Thats the difference between truth and illusion.
On the second stanza I start to get confused. "you created the world. everything you see is deception." If everything the creator sees is deception then how did he create the world? A creator of worlds needs to have a firm grip on reality. Don't you think?

I think that he tries to say that creators do not understand that they created the world and that they live in the world of illusions
Yeah, people forget that they experience their own idea of the world, not the actual world.
Then the last part starts out going on about how the end of questions (by thinking you have all the answers) is the end of growth, and the end of growth is death.
Now, who's the sufi that's gonna pick up the last five lines?

I think it is about people (NeuroTypicals?) thinking aspie people (or the poet) are heartless. A psychologist who didn't know much about aspergers told me I couldn't be aspie because I'm too emotionally sensitive - clearly she thought aspie or autistic people were heartless. The poet values sand equally with humans but this does not make the poet heartless (probably the opposite - doing that would be emotionally upsetting).
Not sure about the second stanza - but my take is that everyone creates their own reality and everyone's reality is different. In combination with the first stanza - I'd interpret it as aspies experience the world more literally or truthfully - and NT's coat it thicker with their own illusions. I think we all do that to some extent but the writer of this poem does the illusion bit less, and experiences the world more directly.
For the last stanza - this reminds me of one of the things I learnt at uni - the more I knew, the more I knew I didn't know. The more I learnt about maths (for instance) the more I knew I didn't know about maths. And if you stop learning new things - you're dead.
And the last little bit is about thinking in pictures.
Actually the poet could be either aspie or autistic (possibly neither but I think that unlikely). I relate strongly to this poem.
If I read it again - I could get more meaning out of it. For me, that's what makes a good poem.

Are there more poems where that one came from? - I like it.
Absurd Minds is an industrial rock band from Germany.
This poem or lyric seems to be the viewpoint of the world through the person who wrote the song. It may or may not be true that such a person is an aspie, though the last stanza leads me to believe that the person tends to think in pictures and has to put together sensory information to understand sight and sound. That sounds a lot like what many aspies and autistics need to do.

The world is not real. Everything is not real - a dust or a human. So the author do not grade anything. Anything is better or worst than another, because everything is not real. When the author would see a real thing, he would try to have an original point of view.
That is said in the last lines. And perhaps in all song

I once looked up "truth" and "reality" in the dictionary and then the words used to define them, and I went round in circles. I didn't get good definitions until I got to the level of maths that involves "real" and "complex" numbers, which ironically is highly abstract but also necessary for modeling the physical world at the same time. And this still didn't addresss what "truth" is.
I'd hate to be asked for the truth in a court of law. Or asked if I was certain about something. I'm not certain about anything. Not 100%, not ever. This doesn't bother me much. But it's a philosophy that would make me a rotten witness.

I am not certain about anything too. I think that everything could different than we expect. Of course, it could not be different. But that point of view is quite complicated, because I always must doubt on everything
Wow, I didn't know anyone else who liked Absurd Minds. It is my absolute favourite ebm band.
I really love their texts and think they're really deep and meaningful, however it seems nobody else 'gets' them.
Would the song writer have AS? That would be an interesting fact. Could that be why I 'get it' when no one else seem to?
Generally, I think that they speak a lot about The Self, and the perception of the world.
What you experience is no different from a dream
The creator is you, the person who watches, and therefore creates, the world.
So if the world is filled with deception, it's basically your fault, becasue for some reason, you need to have it there.
I think their stuff draws close to eastern mysticism and seems very spiritual in some ways.
Like when they mention The Source, which reminds me of Brahman or the Tao, and which I've heard called that with that meaning before.
The text you brought up was really interesting. I should get that album as well.
How do you come up with such an elaborate description of the stanza? All I get when I read it is that the person has to put pictures and sight together to come up with an illusion. I don't get anything about what is real or not real.
