It's just something I am curious about....do you think having AS will effect your IQ... have you take your IQ test before...because I know one of friends who have AS has her IQ around 125...that's kind of high... Do you believe that if you have high IQ you would have low EQ...? Just want some oppinion about this passage...Mine is around 120

I don't really know how high my IQ is. I have taken a few online IQ tests, and according to them my IQ is around 129-138.
quote wikipedia: "Roughly 68% of the population has an IQ between 85 and 115. "
The normal IQ range is 70-130. Maybe people with high IQ think different from the people with around average IQ, and are therefor concidered to have low emotional intelligence.

High intelligence, properly applied, can help you fake almost anything else.

IQ is generally made up of two quotients: verbal, VIQ, and performance, PIQ.

I was told that if there is not much of a gap between VIQ and PIQ, and VIQ < PIQ, you'll likely be classified as a high-functioning autistic if showing symptoms of autism. I was told that aspergers have VIQ and PIQ gaps of about fifteen. In that case, I'd be a high-functioning autistic with average intelligence. This was strange, because I was told I had a nonverbal learning disability when younger, and my IQ tested as VIQ < PIQ. That's supposed to be an anomaly, from what I've read, or I don't have an NVLD. I just found this stuff out today when getting my records. I also found out I supposedly was "below average intelligence" when younger, yet the only problems I had was with comprehension and some elements of computation, like schools wanted you to do times tables in your head, and I used my fingers. They took that as a learning problem, apparently. If they mean emotional intelligence, then yes, I was below average and still am.

IQ varies a lot depending on the test you take. Last time I took a clinically administered IQ test I got a full scale IQ of 129. I also scored above the 99th percentile (above 135) on the Mensa admission test (although I sometimes think they were not too strict when scoring my results).

The schoolwide test I took in 3rd grade put my IQ at something like 155...later (online) tests probably created by clandestine Scientologists put it at around the high 120s. One of these years, maybe I'll get around to joining Mensa.

My IQ is 153, both verbal and performance. What is EQ?

EQ is emotional quotient, I believe. I have no idea what I would score on that, because I don't believe I have ever taken one.

The only IQ test I have taken, which is verbal and performance, is the WAIS-III many years ago. I scored a 97. It was considered to be average. I had no idea it was even an IQ test until recently.

I've had IQ scores from 120 through to 144. I tend to think the whole thing is a bunch of nonsense because of it *lol*. My IQ isn't going to change, so what must change is the standard of the questions and the type of questions being used.

That means there's no such thing as a definitive IQ test. Unless everyone on the website takes the exact same IQ test with the exact same questions...it's just a wild guess in the dark :P

There was an interesting study done sometime back where they found a perceptual difference between high IQs and low IQs. In the study, people were asked to guess their IQ then they were given IQ tests. The people who had high IQ's guessed very close to their IQ. Those with lower IQ's guessed much higher, often missing their mark more significantly the lower their IQ's got. The conclusion was that smart people could better estimate their their intelligence. It makes some sense, but there is something wrong with it. Can anyone tell me?
