IQ is generally made up of two quotients: verbal, VIQ, and performance, PIQ.
I was told that if there is not much of a gap between VIQ and PIQ, and VIQ < PIQ, you'll likely be classified as a high-functioning autistic if showing symptoms of autism. I was told that aspergers have VIQ and PIQ gaps of about fifteen. In that case, I'd be a high-functioning autistic with average intelligence. This was strange, because I was told I had a nonverbal learning disability when younger, and my IQ tested as VIQ < PIQ. That's supposed to be an anomaly, from what I've read, or I don't have an NVLD. I just found this stuff out today when getting my records. I also found out I supposedly was "below average intelligence" when younger, yet the only problems I had was with comprehension and some elements of computation, like schools wanted you to do times tables in your head, and I used my fingers. They took that as a learning problem, apparently. If they mean emotional intelligence, then yes, I was below average and still am.
