I'm having problems an ad at the top page

I sometimes accidentally move my mouse over ads at the top page while navigating WP & the last couple days when I do that; one of the ads gets bigger when the mouse is over it. I sometimes accidentally click on it because it gets bigger & covers the Discussions link at the top. It's an ad with a woman laying down wearing workout cloths; I never paid much attention to it. I'm guessing it could be browser plug-in related but I'm only having that problem with one ad here. I'm using FireFox BTW & haven't tried IE

I'm having a similar problem with a Nissan ad. Unfortunately, Alex will never see fit to fix it, so hopefully, it'll just go away on its own.

I got Adblock Plus & I'm not seeing anymore ads at the top or on the left side

I must say, I actually decided to put adblocker and amazingly enough, the page seems to run instantly.

please remember that if you're blocking the ads, you're taking away money that would support Wrong Planet. While some ads can be annoying, it would be more annoying if we ran out of funds for WP and the site stopped working

Does WP only get money by having people buy & sign up for things off those sites cuz I am NOT doing that anyways so those companies are NOT losing out of any money by having me block their ads. Does WP get money by having people click on em or by simply showing ads to us. I clicked on that ad quite a lot the last couple days :evil:

Just get more flash based ads Alex, We can't block those.

I wish the ads went away upon log in. Make it so only guests and lurkers see them. I've seen it done on other forums. The guests online always outnumber the members online by at least 4:1 so you'd only lose like, 25% ad revenue if you did it that way. According to that site vaulation thing I posted in my "how much is WP worth?" thread, WP makes $40/day from the ads here. Surely WP doesn't cost that much a day to run?

Also I keep seeing the alien dude with an exclamation mark in the top left corner, whats up with that?
