John Isner won the Hall of Fame Open in Newport, Rhode Island. I also found out he's an animal lover and donates his time to animal rescue charities and pet adoptions.

Managed to get an ancient IBM T23 laptop to recognize a hard drive, after days of repeated 'GEOMETICAL ERROR' (sic) messages. Was able to install an operating system (Antix Linux), which just about works in this 17 year old machine. Bought it for £11, so no reason to complain... :D

i had no idea this recording was digitized and in stereo, all these years my 60 year old monophonic LP was all i thought there was of it. carl sandburg singularly imbued this with a folksy grace and gravity no other narrator could touch.

A very interesting article on a Japanese Olympic champion, Mikio Oda, triple jump champion in 1928. The Olympic Games are a special interest of mine.
