Slime on hotdogs?

I recently opened a bag of hot dogs that had been orignally opened (they were in a ziploc bag) and they had some mayonnaise looking slime on it. I got some on my finger, and I think I licked it off without thinking. My question is this: What was that slime and how long do I have to live? :/

That slime is grease that has radiated to the outside of the dog. this happens with processed "meat" products.

It is somewhat sticky and grotesque, but not lethal, but I would not make a meal of this slime. The dogs were also entering old age, so best not to eat them. Once opened, they should be frozen (until ready to use), or stored in a fridge with a temperature of less than 35 degrees F and consumed in under seven days, to be safe.

2. The rest of your life. Just the next two days might not be very pleasant. Drink lots of fluids (lucozade etc) and have a bathroom handy (if you start passing blood or feeling v dehydrated, go to your doctor though).

I had some hot dogs this morning. I saw that white "slime", washed it off and was good to go. ^_^

Eww haha. I'm glad I'm not eating meat anymore. It's starting to sound like the nastiest thing.
