Self-explanatory.

Please don't make it a romance, we have enough of those in the film department.

Recently, there's been this idea floating around my head... I don't know what the plot's going to be like, but I know that the concept of communication is a major theme.

writing a novel 'bout near future where genetic changes have created dog's with human or superior iq's.

i would think favorite genre for a. s. ers would be sci/fi. it's mine.

What genre wouldn't? We're everywhere.

I write fantasy/sci-fi. But I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. What genre do you like? If you already have an idea, doesn't it suggest a genre? Given that so many Aspies are considered nerds, maybe science fiction.

How about a psychological thriller?

I do fantasy and historical stuff. A high fantasy novel with an autistic character would definitely be innovative.

Isn't that what you've been trying to write for a long time now?

I could see horror, as the sense of alienation, along with the fear others may feel toward the character with Asperger's, could work very well with that genre.

I personally think coming-of-age would be a good genre for a book about a character with Asperger's.

Maybe the asperger aspect need not be mentioned or clarified in the novel at all.
How about a story from an aspie point of view on non-aspies in such a manner that NT's (your target group) would identify with the aspie.
Pick a genre best suited for the story you'll want to convey.

It's all about the story, i mean brokeback mountain (I've only seen the film) is a story about love, not homosexuality or cowboys and that's why I as a hetero can identify.
That's the power of the story.

It can be any genre. I'm currently writing a Young adult/coming of age novel where main male character has Asperger's (but he's undiagnosed).

I also have an idea about a SF novel with Aspie/Authistic characters, and another crime/detective novel.

I really don't think it depends on the genre. It can be anything.

Sci-fi/Fantasy Usually novels with steep learning curves tend to have an appeal to many Aspies.
